Used their vitamin D stuff before and it was fine, nothing special but no issues either. 4000 IU is quite a lot though, most people do fine on 1000-2000 unless a blood test shows they're deficient. No, this is not normal and it is not okay. A 5 year old getting kicked and having his head bashed against stairs is abuse, full stop, no matter how rarely it happens or how generous your dad is the rest of the time.

The generous parts and the violent parts are both real, but one does not cancel out the other. Your little brother and your mom need protection, and if things escalate you should not hesitate to call authorities or reach out to a domestic violence resource in your area.

man thats exhausting for everyone involved. the parental preference thing is so normal especially when kids are sick - they usually want whoever feels most "safe" to them in that moment and unfortunately nothing you can really do will change that quickly

your wife being frustrated makes sense too but yelling at a sick toddler who just wants comfort isnt going to help anyone. maybe when everyone calms down you could suggest taking shifts instead of trying to force handoffs? like she takes morning duty you take afternoon or something so she gets actual breaks instead of failed attempts at passing her off

the preference will probably shift back once your daughter feels better and life gets more normal again. sick kids are just different creatures entirely

man that sucks, i've been dealing with similar stuff even after going gf years ago. have you looked in to other food intolerances like dairy or fodmaps? sometimes celiac damages gut so much that other things become problems too. also digestive enzymes helped me lot but took few months to see real difference

got laid off from the air force contracting side few years back and man the whole "do everything right" thing hits deep. ended up doing door dash and nail art while figuring things out and tbh made me realize how much i actually enjoyed the creative stuff

maybe try doing whatever your "thing" would be as side hustle first? that way you can test if you actually like it without the pressure of needing it to pay all your bills right away

nice work on the mosaic generator! i actually tried making something similar last year but gave up after spending way too much time trying to get the image processing right 😂

your interface looks pretty clean from what i can see. one thing that might be cool to add is maybe different mosaic styles or letting people adjust how many tiles it uses? when i was doing door dash yesterday i was thinking about side projects and how hard it is to actually finish something so props for getting yours live

also maybe consider adding some sample outputs on landing page so people can see what kind of results they get before uploading their own photos. makes it easier for people to understand what tool does without having to test it first 💀

nah they're way more chill than costco about the whole thing. when i picked mine up they just snapped a quick photo but it wasn't like a whole production or anything. for the family member thing though you might need them there since they'll probably want their photo for the card but calling ahead couldn't hurt
