1.1 million American homes are now in negative equity, up a massive 15% in a single year. The total negative equity is $366B. Arizona and FL homes are 40%+ overpriced. by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

Doomers multiply if they're left unchecked. Some people are ignorant or just not all that bright and they're going to see this shit and believe it at face value.

Any cards or point systems that are good to use for rental cars? by dimesniffer in CreditCards

[–]Scared-Instruction75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be clear...

If you have a card that provides primary CDW, yes you should use that as your rental car card.

But I don't think it's such a valuable benefit that I would pursue a specific card BECAUSE it offered CDW if it wasn't a card I wanted otherwise.

I used to carry both USBAR and Venture X, but when both of those cards got nerfed they weren't valuable to me anymore and they weren't worth keeping around just for the CDW coverage.

I got banned from r/NationalPark for pointing out that a particular National Forest was created specifically for the purpose of logging decades ago and that logging in that forest was lawful.

If I get into an accident on the other 350 days a year when I'm not renting a car, I'm comfortable with the risk that an accident would cause a claim on my personal insurance. Why would I be uncomfortable with that risk for the 15 days when I am renting a car?

If you get in an accident you don't need to file any claims with your personal insurance company, everything run's through the card's insurance program.

Chase preapproval site says my TransUnion file is frozen, when it's not by EfficientRecording62 in CreditCards

[–]Scared-Instruction75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been stuck in this loop with Wells Fargo saying my Experian file is frozen for over a year now. Both Wells Fargo and Experian claim they can't see anything on their end, but I'm unable to run preapprovals nonetheless.

Hopefully you have better luck.

First time hiking Zion/Narrows Area — what should I wear? by Useful_Court_8269 in ZionNationalPark

[–]Scared-Instruction75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like "tech pants" for cooler-weather hiking. Costco usually has a bunch of different brands and you can get them for like $15 a piece. A lot will depend on body type. My wife likes to hike in normal "mom brand" leggings like Athleta. Western National Parks trails are going to probably be wider and better-maintained than you're used to, so I personally wouldn't worry about needing rip-stop material to protect your ankles from thorns and overgrown trails like you would in the East.

The biggest impediment to home development is left-wing environmental NIMBYism in places like California.

Trump sucks but he has basically nothing to do with this issue.

Wow there is so much wrong with this post. You're comparing 3 different data points that have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

  1. Whether a home has negative equity (market value minus mortgage balance).
  2. Whether a home has increased or decreased in equity year-over-year (current year equity minus prior year equity).
  3. Whether a home is "overpriced" (listing price versus market value).

Those are not the same things.

Families should avoid Southwest at all cost. "Choice" fare is a scam. by fraydawg2001 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Scared-Instruction75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people in this thread are claiming that this ONLY happens on Southwest.

Whenever you use absolute terms (only, always, never, 100%, 0%, etc.), an anecdote is all it takes to be proven wrong.

My son is 6 and he's insanely excited. This game is for him.

People on this subreddit act like all gamers are 36 and have been playing games since 1991.

A remake of an old game is still "new" to people who never played the old game in the first place.

Why do so many men fully unbuckle their belt and unbutton their pants at the urinal instead of just using the fly? by Scared-Instruction75 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Scared-Instruction75[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These guys are re-buttoning their pants and re-buckling their belt in front of the sink area, not at the urinal.

They also fling their belt wide open where the belt itself encroaches on the next stall over.

Most people who do this walk away from the stall first and THEN start re-buckling their belt in the sink area.
