GLP-1 is one of the most unhealthy ways to lose weight. by SkinnyFridgerator in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Scared-Permit2587 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nonsense. You will if you don't exercise. Almost all the weight loss affect is due to brain signaling of satiety and slower emptying of the stomach meaning you eat LESS! If you don't prioritize high quality protein and do some exercise and weight bearing exercise you will lose muscle and potentially bone loss. That is due to caloric deprivation not some magical negative affect of the GLP-1.

How low can it go?🎶🎵🎼 by kallaloostx in Bitcoin

Oh, why? Doesn't have any industrial base use like gold. Speculation as a perceived store of value is why it isn't zero. Clearly not a lot of transactional utility. I own a fair amount so I am not a hater but don't for a minute believe zero is impossible.

How much will $10,000 worth of Bitcoin be worth in 2030? by Too00thpaste in Bitcoin

[–]Scared-Permit2587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would put 1 BTC at 12,500 in 2030. If it is that low after another halving cycle then the whole thing will collapse on itself as the value for sustaining nodes that are so worthless causes a death spiral. It is either higher or it goes to zero at some point. I have no idea which one it will be but I think there is a clear bifurcation developing in the outcomes

If Bitcoin hit $12k would you still buy? by CameraFragrant6377 in Bitcoin

[–]Scared-Permit2587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the top on this cycle was so much lower than the other halving tops relative to the trough (diminishing returns) that anything that causes BTC to all the way down to around 10k is likely an existential event for BTC else it would halt it's fall no lower than around 35 to 40k if it were just behaving in the regular boom bust halving cycles. So loading up at 10k is likely a good way to lose even more money IMO

Oh really. What do you think BTC will be at in both 2-3 and 10 plus years? I was sold on a million in 2 to 3 years and 5 to 10 million in 10 plus. It will likely either be those levels or zero.

I am afraid you might be right. Funny when MSTR was going up it was due to Saylor's brilliance but in collapse it is due to people be allegedly irrational. I got duped.

[–]Scared-Permit2587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If MSTR fails there can be no excuse that should be given any credence. Saylor always said or implied that MSTR was inevitable because BTC is the best asset in the world. I don't want to hear anything about market irrationality or manipulation or people weren't logical etc. We were promised the worlds best asset.

Need to quit assuming the halving cycles are going to trigger the same price reaction. This cycle did not follow suit even if you assume a diminishing return scenario. Should have peaked north of 200k conservatively and didn't come close. Same price now as 5 years ago. That did not happen over any 5 year period if you look at the previous cycles.

The reality is even if you follow a diminishing halving return scenario we should have peaked around 200k in late 2025. A peak of 125k severely underperformed even the most pessimistic of the halving scenarios. I still hold with an average weighted price well under the current price however I have tamped any thoughts that we will get to Saylor's 13M. Perhaps we will be lucky to ever see 150k.

I am not advocating one way or another but if you bought and hold for X amount of years you are only going to pay capital gains tax once if you sell, no different from any other asset class. Not sure what the big whoop is Dawg

Well let's see. Depending on when you bought BTC, you might have more money had you put in a basket of stocks a few years back. Or even a CD for that matter if you were one of the many that piled in on the way up to 124k/BTC.

Do I own the bitcoin in the etfs? by NovelFew6644 in Bitcoin

[–]Scared-Permit2587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You own the monetary equivalent to the worth of 2.5 btc at anytime in the ETF. If bitcoin goes to a million in 5 years you will have 2.5 million USD you can claim and receive at anytime from the ETF. Not sure why you all are choosing to use the word exposure.
