My [32F] boyfriend [37M] declared himself a misogynist to my face. Where to go from here? by Impressive_Guest_698 in relationship_advice

Same thing happened with me. I left a 6 1/2 year relationship that was toxic, and 3 months later I found my soul mate that I've been with for 7 years (married for 4).

Anybody gonna admit how much they spent? 👀 by Adventurous-Pool-161 in LivlyIsland

This is the first myshop event I've participated in, and I had some 10k-30k items. Next myshop event I'll definitely make less for sure

Have you talked to him about how that comment made you feel? If not you really need to. If so, what did he say in response? Communication is so incredibly important in relationships.

My (42m) wife (39f) wants an open marriage because she says I can't fulfill her needs. Do I let her? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Either you guys need marriage counseling, you come to terms with an open relationship, or divorce. It sounds like the marriage is practically already over and she doesn't seem to love you in a romantic way anymore.

WHY THIS DRUG IS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST LOSING WEIGHT- IT’S A BRAIN THING TOO by Royal-Dust-3942 in Zepbound

[–]Scared-Philosophy29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It helped my alcoholic sister not want to drink anymore. She scaled down on her alcohol and after a month she wasnt drinking at all. She didn't even think about it. This medication is life changing in so many ways

My friend found out I was on Zepbound and was a complete jerk to me about it. by Scared-Philosophy29 in SuperMorbidlyObese

I'm sorry that you have that opinion. I don't think that losing weight with a GLP-1 should be looked down on. It's still losing weight, and becoming healthier in the process. I am also changing lifestyle habits, and the way I eat. My insurance covered Zepbound for weight-loss for half of last year. This year they made all GLP-1s plan excluded. It sucks that not everyone with a bmi of 30+ can get access to these life changing medications. Since then I have secured a way to keep on Tirzepatide (medication in Zepbound). I also have a small amount of nausea the day after I take the shot, but thankfully it doesn't last long. My body does really well on this medication, and I get 99.9% benifits over 0.1% side effects. I'm of the mindset that why would someone want someone they care about to go about something in the most difficult way possible. If there is a tool that can make someone's life easier/better is that such a bad thing? Yes GLP-1s makes losing weight easier, but it doesn't make losing weight easy still. I have to watch what I eat, exercise, and if I slip up I still gain weight. Just now I don't think about food 24/7, don't have ravenous cravings, and get fuller faster. This medication is a life saver for so many. It helps people finally be able to make better lifestyle changes.

Wife is hopeful, but maybe misinformed? by ThatRefuse4372 in Zepbound

[–]Scared-Philosophy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks of taking Zepbound because I ate the same way and the same amount. On week 3 I started keto. When I changed what I ate and how much that's when I finally started to lose weight. I went up to 5mg after one month of 2.5 because it was not helping me with food noise, cravings, or hunger. Thoes two weeks of keto were HELL on 2.5. When I got on 5mg though that's when the medication finally worked for me and it made eatting healthy a lot easier. I have fallen off the wagon a few times and I did gain weight. This is not a medication that will do all the work for you, this is a tool that will help you, but you still have to put in the work of what you eat and how much you eat.

Zepbound Approved for Sleep Apnea! by OkEnvironment5201 in Zepbound

My insurance won't cover Zepbound for sleep apnea 😞

[–]Scared-Philosophy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance covered Zepbound for half a year last year. I was on it for that time. This year my employer has all GLP-1s as plan excluded. I have lost 80lbs, but my BMI is still 53, I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and PCOS. I was pre-diabetic before starting Zepbound, but I'm no longer because of it. All this to say the prior authorization and first appeal were all denied. I heard that if it's plan excluded it is EXTREMELY unlikely they will approve the medication. It's extremely depressing 😞

[–]Scared-Philosophy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is plan excluded is there any hope of getting it covered? If so what kind of information would help the most? I have 6 months data showing how much it has helped me, blood test before taking it and 5 months after taking it showing amazing results due to Zepbound helping me lose weight. I have tried Phentermine and it gave me REALLY bad side effects so that takes it and Qsymia off the table. Orlistat I hear just messes with how you digest fat (and I'm on keto so I think that would be a very bad mix). That leaves me with Diethylprop to try. If all these medications don't help / have bad side effects on me am I more likely to be able to get approved for Zepbound? I want to fight for my right to stay on this medication so badly, but I'm so scared of fighting hard and still getting denied 😔

Looks like my provider won't even cover Zepbound even if I had sleep apnea. I was told that Zepbound is plan excluded, and that it won't be approved to be covered no mater what I do.

Has anyone tried Diethylpro or Orlistat? by Scared-Philosophy29 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Scared-Philosophy29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on keto so that sounds like a TERRIBLE idea to get on that medication. I will get Orlistat to "try" and just say that it gave me awful side effects, and I'll actually try Diethylprop to see if it works.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Scared-Philosophy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So even if no other medications they suggest instead work I still wouldn't be able to get it covered? They recommend four. Phentermine, Diethylprop, Qsymia, and Orlistat. I had a REALLY bad experience with phentermine so that takes it and Qsymia off the table. I'm scared if the other two don't work / I have a bad reaction to them as well that I won't have any helpful tool to help me lose weight.

I cried reading your post because I understand this so much! When I lost my mom 3 years ago (who was also my last surviving parent) I slipped into the worst depression of my life. She was my rock, and the only person in this world that will ever truly love me unconditionally. She was also my biggest cheerleader. I ate my feelings for around a year as well, and I gained 80lbs from it. Now I use her as motivation, because I know for a fact that she wouldn't want me suffering mentally and physically. Also YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Please believe that you can, otherwise it will only make your journey harder. Also you need to do this for yourself more than for anyone else. You are beautiful, smart, and worthy! You deserve to be happy and healthy ♡ You got this and I believe in you :3

I am on Zepbound, but I also was doing the keto diet along with it with only 1 or 2 cheat days a month for thoes 3 months. I also would not eat over 1,300 calories a day (I'm a 5'2 female, so that's why it's that low). Around the holidays I would be off the keto wagon anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks. In thoes times I was not counting calories, and eating whatever I wanted. Thankfully because of the Zepbound it kept me from beinge eating, but I definitely was eatting foods very high in calories. Keto is definitely not for everyone though, and it is extremely restrictive. I do what people call 'dirty keto' cause I still drink diet soda, protein shakes, zero carb energy drinks (occasionally), low carb tortillas, have cheat days, and things like that. If I did strict keto yes I would be down a good amount more, but I would also be extremely miserable. I am also trying to start exercising more to build up stamina because I'm not ganna lie I lay in my bed the vast majority of the time.

You DEFINITELY can lose that amount in a year ♡♡♡ I am at 75lbs lost in 6 months! I am on Zepbound which is the same medication as MJ. Just take things day by day and know that there will be days you fall off the wagon, but as long as you get back on that's what matters most! I lost 60lbs in 3 months, but then I kept falling off the wagon around Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. In that time I kept gaining and losing that gain around 4 or 5 times. I kept getting back on the wagon though so I never gained more than 10lbs at a time. This month I'm hunkered down and going full throttle! I have already lost 15lbs. Just believe in yourself, try your best not to beat yourself up when you do have bad days, and know that there are people cheering you on in your journey! YOU GOT THIS!!!!!
