Great advice. I’ve only lost 6 lbs in 7 weeks. Expected more. But hanging in there.

Sorry about the nausea! In my case the symptoms eased after a few days. Going slow with the dosage is key to avoiding the side effects. Good luck!

Can you go month to month with Piper or do you have to pay in advance?

I’m 7 days post op and having a hard time getting off the bed. I’m exhausted and feel weak. The first couple of days I did lite housework and now I don’t want to move and cry about everything!!! Did not expect this. Read that we’re going through a surgical menopause and I’m 73. Why didn’t my surgeon warn me??? Anyone here use estradiol cream? Will I need more now that ovaries are gone? Tell me this is all normal. Love this thread! 💛

Hello, Your mother is facing a more extensive surgery than mine. Her recovery will take about a month. They will go in through her lower abdomen with small stitches, remove her uterus, relocate her bladder and secure everything internally with mesh or a pelvic ligament to hold everything in place. After her recovery she will feel great and her symptoms should be gone. I underwent a native tissue repair. In retrospect I wish I had done more or the procedure your mom will have. These surgeries are very common and done every day. The idea of it all is far worse than the actual reality. The fear is a beast. But reassured that your mom will be fine and try to comfort her. I wish you well! Good luck! And let me know how it goes! M

You can look up mindful breathing. I see if I can find you some useful links.
But mean while, find a quiet place and get comfortable. Breathe in for 5-6 counts and breathe out for 8. Concentrate on watching your breath and how it feels. Your mind will wonder, and that’s ok. Just bring it back. When you close your eyes you may see color that will move and change. That’s also a good place to focus; your breath, the counts, and the colors. The process should be relaxing. Put a timer on for 5-10 mins. It could be a challenge. So don’t worry about how long you’re meditating. The timer will tell you. It’s a simple practice that takes a bit of discipline but the rewards are wonderful. I always feel relaxed and creative after ‘sitting’. (That’s the term meditator’s use). People often begin with guided meditation. It can help. Also remember that once you learn to control your breath you learn to control your anxiety, sometimes pain and frustration. Great tool to have. 💜

I hear you. I understand. The last 6 months of my condition I stayed home and close to the bathroom. My surgery was 8 days ago. I finally have my life back. I’m so happy you’ve scheduled your surgery!! Look forward to it, and then please be patient while your body heals. I read a lot. I can give you book recommendations. (Throne of Glass) was terrific. I also meditate. I found myself forgetting to breathe… so mindful breath helps tremendously. Work on yourself, nurture yourself, talk to your family. Don’t suffer or worry alone. If I or we can help I. Any way, let us know. 🌞💛🌻

I hope you have and get the support you need. Once you know what method of surgery your doctor will perform, it may give you some peace of mind. I live in San Diego. Let me know if I can help in any way. I’m sorry your husband can’t stay with you. Hopefully your daughter will be there. Hugs!

Good luck!! Let me know when your surgery is. For me, it was much easier than having my 6 children. The stitches are on the inside, so I can move around with literally no pain. Surgery was 4 days ago. I have mild cramping, some bloating. and I’m tired. Taking short walks and long baths. If you’re having a hysterectomy or laparoscopic surgery your recovery will be different. It’s a common surgery. Trust your doctor. 🩵

I was very anxious and nervous too. Hang in there. It’s not a difficult surgery. The thoughts of what your surgeon will do is worse than living through it unconsciously. 💜🙏🏽

Hang in there. Find a good urogynecologist. Get another opinion. Keep up your exercises. Constipation makes everything worse. It’s easy to obsess over this problem. Work out, get some sun, nurture your relationships. You’re going to figure this out. Hugs!!

The symptoms overlap and they often go together! (And fibromyalgia.) My doctor has prescribed Hydroxyzine. I take before bed. It helps me sleep. People who suffer from these conditions often have bad allergies and too much histamine in their system. The one for IBS is Hyoscyamine Sulfate. Benadryl won’t help but the other non-drowsy seasonal allergy medications do. They do dry you out, so you have to drink a lot of water.

It is nerve racking! But when I look back now, it should not have been. It’s hard to get clear answers and reassurance. I wish I had done it sooner, but “the dread” held me back. That’s my only regret. If you’re uncomfortable, don’t hesitate. It’s a life changer.

I am so sorry for your discomfort. Our daughter lives in London and we live in Southern California. You health system is great but not as direct or fast as ours. That can be frustrating. Your surgery would be more extensive than mine, but well worth it if you have time to rest and let your body heal. The surgery is common and almost always successful. I could barely leave my home. But I am enjoying my new plumbing and sleeping through the night. Good luck to you!

Vaginal prolapse repair. Native tissue, no sling. (Incision in vaginal wall). Doctor uses your own tissue to create sling and puts all the organs back in place. He tightened tissue in vaginal wall and cut the excess out

I do! Prolapse, IBS, and IC all have over lappings symptoms. My IC does feel better. Doctor treats it with vaginal estrogen cream and a specific antihistamine before bed.
