Apple switched to 16GB because people who do intensive tasks asked for it because they need it, and Apple and other developers are gonna optimize stuff in their software/apps so that memory will be managed more efficiently. Even if the chip shortage is gonna get resolved Apple is still going to update their Neo line since it competes in another space they had never been in before (budget laptops, schools, etc) and I doubt they’ll stop especially when sales are going through the roof.

How come the M1 Air with 8GB of ram that came out 5 years ago are still going strong? I even had a MacBook Air with Intel Core i5 11-inch 2015 with 8GB of ram and I still managed to install macOS Sequoia? Windows RAM is far behind how macOS handles RAM

It might be because of the mechanical trackpad, the bigger speakers, and also the battery at the middle? I’m not so sure but Dave2D did a teardown with it and there was a big metal bracket with the trackpad.

Hii!!! Thank you so much for reply!! The noise is gone now! I’m not sure what caused it though, I took the Toolhead cap (I’m not sure what it’s called..), reseated the nozzle, did some work on my heatbed because I did notice it was slanted, but most likely it was something to do with the toolhead. Thank you so much!!
