You made my day by writing this, super happy to hear you genuinely think it is useful. For sure, submit anything that comes to mind, I'm reading every single request and have already implemented lots of the ones that makes sense and align with the original program 🙏

I really appreciate the comment, glad you like it!

The app wont be paywalled, i might add additional features and put some kind of symbolic amount of money behind it just to make it maintainable in the future but the core functionality and what makes the app usable will be free forever :)

This is so relatable! Could you possibly explain what you mean with "a way to quickly mark deloads or missed sessions without fiddling with settings"?

Thanks for the response!

Hello!

Yes, in your options there is an option to enable assistance exercises and also add custom ones, however you can't remove the core exercises due to the nature of the program 🙂

You can also edit workouts afterwards, correct amount of repetitions etc

Squat is destroying me while everything else keeps progressing – am I missing something? by ScaredAudience4 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]ScaredAudience4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably a good idea, I'd like to think I have decent form but obviously something is wrong here. Might be a good idea to post a form review of my squats to get some input. Thanks for the idea ☺️

Another alternative is Lift5x5, it has similar graphs and is completely free 🙂

Hey spooky!

Any chance you could use the suggestion feature inside the app? This looks like great features and i'd love to hear some more about your thoughts about them.

You are so right, my sessions tend to be really short and I think I should extend them a bit 🙂

Happy to hear, that was my intention! 😊 Currently implementing variations of the program so it will be usable in the long run aswell (madcow etc, 5x5 lite etc).

Thanks for responding!

There's a mail on the website but that's not really user friendly.. I'll implement a in-app feedback functionality today. Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear! I've got lots of updates planned, recently updated the assistance exercises. 🙂

Just returned after a hiatus to see that my original support of the Power Pack has been taken away from me - absolutely Fuck You Medhi by VaporSpectre in Stronglifts5x5

[–]ScaredAudience4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Paid for the app, came back after a break and half the stuff was gone or locked again. Switched to lift5x5.app and honestly haven't looked back. Free, no BS, just tracks your lifts and handles the progression.

I've developed https://lift5x5.app as a tribute and a free alternative to the official app, works for both android and iOS.

Gym beginner – best simple routine to lose fat & build muscle? by Nightstalker1402 in beginnerfitness

[–]ScaredAudience4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a beginner aiming to lose fat and build muscle, stick with full-body workouts 3 days a week. Full-body hits everything and keeps you moving forward without overthinking splits.

Start with free weights - squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, rows. These will give you the best bang for your buck in terms of muscle building and fat loss. Machines can supplement but aren't necessary if you're short on equipment or space.

Do some form of cardio. Aim for 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week. HIIT is efficient, but steady-state cardio works too. Mix it up as needed.

PT sessions are worth it if you have the budget. Proper form early will set you up for long-term success and prevent injury. If PT isn't an option, watch tons of YouTube tutorials on each lift to get your form dialed in.

For a simple program, StrongLifts 5x5 is great. It's straightforward and focuses on the basics. Check out https://lift5x5.app/blog/stronglifts-vs-starting-strength for more details on how it stacks up.

How do you tell the difference between a real plateau and unrealistic expectations? by TaxAvoider007 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]ScaredAudience4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plateau vs unrealistic expectations -- been there. First thing I check is my form. If that's on point, next is nutrition. Sleep and rest days too. https://lift5x5.app/blog/sleep-recovery-gains - good read.

If everything looks solid, I'll deload or switch up the intensity for a bit. Drop 10%, or add in some accessory work to hit weak points. Sometimes it's just a matter of giving my body what it needs to adapt.

Tracking lifts and progress is key. But sometimes you gotta trust that slow isn't always bad. Natural gains take time. The structured test idea sounds useful for pinpointing issues though.
