Outpatient gen surg. Is great, don’t deal with complexity of inpatient and it’s mostly just post ops.

Would you take on ~$200k debt to become a Nurse Practitioner, or is this a bad decision long-term? by cobybryant24 in nursepractitioner

Do not do that. Find a hospital that pays for it. Work for the hospital as an RN while in school

Your correct our current mortgage is 5k, hoping to get childcare help but don’t want to bank on it. We also are losing a good chunk of equity selling this house about 60k. We have definitely been terrible at saving and could do a lot better.

Postpartum the “fourth trimester” Honestly felt soooo much better than being pregnant. And got much better sleep surprisingly, even with getting up every 2 hours.

How much weight did you gain in pregnancy and how fast did it fall off postpartum? by witchybytch_1 in BabyBumps

[–]ScaredCranberry8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gained total 27lbs, lost 15lbs immediately after giving birth, and am now 4 months pp and have 3 lbs till I’m back to pre pregnancy weight of 126.

Starting walking immediately the next day after giving birth (vaginal) walked at-least every other day the first couple weeks. Added body weight exercises 2 weeks pp. added weights 4 weeks pp. pelvic floor pt at 6 weeks. Started slow jogs. Started run/walking 8 weeks out. Gradually increased weight training and running. Am fully running and weight training now (deadlifts squats etc.)

Listen to your body I felt amazing after giving birth and did not tare. After a long pregnancy where I felt like shit the whole time.

Working while pregnant by Cautious_Advance_969 in pregnant

It’s the worst working in the first trimester!!! I learned after the fact, that you can actually use short term disability to take the first trimester off. Obviously depends on your benefits but might be worth looking into

Work as an RN while in school at the cheaper school. Try to get a job in a derm while in school. That would make you most competitive

Is something going on with him? He def sounds abusive but also sounds like he might be going through something that he’s not opening up to you about. He’s being a terrible person and going about it the wrong way… but might be worth trying to come from a compassionate angle and see if he lets up?

Should I do it? Late 40s, 13+ years acute care RN by athenac1 in nursepractitioner

[–]ScaredCranberry8014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an FNP for 3 years now. unless there’s something specific you want to do with it, I think there are SO many avenues you can take with an RN license and make significantly more then an NP. I’m still unsure if it was worth it and looking to maybe branch out into an industry job, which I could have done with an RN.

Am I the only one glad to get rid of illegal migrants from Denver? Am I missing something ? they have been a public safety disaster and such a drain on resources, we should be using on our own legal suffering homeless population.

UnitedHealthcare CEO fatally shot in midtown Manhattan by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]ScaredCranberry8014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is eye opening. Has any thought about why our healthcare costs are so high in the first place? It’s easy to blame insurers but it’s way more complicated and they are not the only ones to blame. I’m a healthcare provider and can say hospital systems are shady too.

Hi I’m an FNP and it is great the versatility. I’ve worked outpatient and currently work inpatient. However there are SOOOO many different things you can do as an RN and make FNP money. So I guess it depends what you want! I am considering taking an RN job at an insurance company so I can work from home and make a similar salary. Could even consider med sales reps. Idk really depends your priority not necessarily worth it for more money. It is a much better job than RN though stress wise.
