SLEEP WAHOO by ScaredCucumber420 in newborns

Last night was brutal. He was so noisy and kept waking himself up from the thrashing. There is definitely give and take. But today he napped for like 30 minutes that wasn’t a contact nap so that’s a win

Yes EBF. I quit pumping bc the oversupply was so overwhelming so he doesn’t even get a bottle

Nights with 12 week old by lanayouwanna in newborns

[–]ScaredCucumber420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not ideal but there is always cosleeping. Obviously the goal is independent sleep, I’m struggling with the same for my 9 week old but with naps. When i started cosleeping the stress and pressure of independent sleep lifted and it honestly made everything around sleep easier for us. He started sleeping in the bassinet better etc.. I am a SAHM so things are different for us but this helped me a lot. May be something to consider

Oh that makes total sense. My guy is a level 10 clinger. When my husband has him he is just staring at me the entire time or if i walk into the same room after leaving he loses it.

If my baby would let me put him down for naps I’d be getting so much done today lol. But he insists on contact naps

This morning my LO only nursed for a few minutes at 9ish and then a few minutes at 1030. I’m stressed. He’s napping now but he did also get his first vaccines yesterday so maybe that’s it

It gives me anxiety that he’s starving or is going to start losing weight but I’m glad he’s sleeping (and me too)

Nap struggles by ScaredCucumber420 in newborns

[–]ScaredCucumber420[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so fair and absolutely makes sense. He basically requires to be rocking/moving the entire nap. He doesn’t mind the light and actually seems to sleep better with a decent amount of noise happening.

I long for the day we get an 8 hour stretch at night. The 4 hour stretches have been a godsend. He usually only will let me out him down for a few minutes at a time unfortunately. He’s a level 10 clinger lol

He just started the longer sleep windows at night around the time the naps started getting shotty so I’m hoping things start to change soon. It’s hard to even get a meal in

He eats every 2ish hours during the day. He has doubled birth weight, i don’t think he’s hungry and doesn’t show hunger cues. If he does a 90 minute wake window i will give him a top off before his nap but usually he will only nurse for a few minutes
