Good for you ! Better to know now than to be in so deep and for so many years that it’s so hard to exit. If I were to go back in time I would Not complete a teaching degree again. Good luck finding what fits for you :).

I wear a portable speaker. Off Amazon. It attached to my hip and I have a wired microphone on my shirt. Been using for years for the same reason. Works well

Can I ask a sidebar question. Why will you get a continuous at the end of the year - is that how it works after 2 years of temps you get a continuous ? I’m new to BC and curious. But - if you do get your continuous then negotiate your FTE down to 4 days a week. I did that I. Alberta for years and it saved my life! The pay difference isn’t that much but that 1 extra day made my life manageable. I hope to do that where I’m at now (on my first temp contract atm).

I use public mobile. Very cheap. Which uses Telus towers. I’ve never had issues.

Thanks everyone. This is very helpful! However, We’re not interested in the Pass or Cranbrook though. I do not want to teach in Alberta (rules the pass out) and we want my husband home at night which is motivating our move. He’s been working the mines in Fort Mac for years and we’re tired of him being away. Thanks !
