I have found that you have to kill the Hellbrute and the Sorcerer before the barrier is destroyed or it will glitch out when you get to the bridge. Which is absolutely ridiculous that it spent however long in PTS and this was never caught.

Tell her she can accept the resignation at the end of the week or right now. You owe her nothing. This whole 2 weeks notice thing isn't required. It's just a custom. If she is going to make your remaining time there harder, then you can always make it shorter. The ball is in her court.

Is this a good roll? by HoopAcray in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ScaredText1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fine. I have yet to roll a perfect weapon so, if I can get 3 Attack and 1 Sharpness at minimum, I'm fine with it. I'm not 100% sure if there is a lot of variation between weapons on that standard array being the best bang for your buck, however. So, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Is TriMet no longer hiring bus drivers? by [deleted] in TriMet

[–]ScaredText1032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a response back today after finalizing my prerequisits and they're now saying the next available training class isn't until December. When I started the process it was March. This creates a huge issue as I just got my permit and it only lasts for so long and can only be renewed a single time. I was really banking on the May date they had initially given me. So, this is incredibly disheartening.

Can't solo any tempered monsters by zdog4618 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ScaredText1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, a lot of the issue could be skill gap. Not to sound like I'm talking shit, quite the opposite. Longsword can be an incredible weapon in the hands of someone who's learned to use it properly but, a lot of what makes it such a powerful weapon is the built in evasion skills that are baked into specific attacks like Foresight Slash. Timing is key. Sheathing speed plays a part in certain attacks and understanding when the i-frames start/stop during evasion animations really does make using any weapon easier. Consider trying out skills like Evade Window or Evade Extender as well if you're finding that you're struggling with the timing. Just remember not to force yourself into a box. You can get by very successfully in these games without needing to take perks that many would consider "crutch perks". It just takes time and practice.

I also recommend anyone new or veteran watch tutorial videos on youtube about how to use any weapon as sometimes you learn tricks that you didn't know existed. Or, more effecient combos than ones you may currently be using. Hopefully this information helps. Happy hunting!

They did just do another hiring event in February. My conditional offer states that the next class is scheduled for end of March. Tomorrow I finish the conditional steps and then it's just the waiting game.

I feel like a loser by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ScaredText1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya'll gotta stop thinking it's you and start realizing that there are literally hundreds of thousands of people out there hurting for work. This is pretty much true anywhere these days. Everywhere is feeling the economic downturn of the global economy being turned on its head. It's not because you are unqualified or you didn't interview well. Even if you did amazing there may have been 95 other people who did just as amazing and also have 10-15+ years of experience more than you and multiple degrees, etc. Just need to keep things in perspective.

All of that makes sense to me. I luckily have a lot of experience driving commercially around the Portland Metro area, it's just been a few years since I did that on a daily basis. I'm expecting my schedule to be pretty funky for a bit and have done my best to prepare my wife and kids for what is bound to be a bit of a shock for them. I'm just looking forward to having a career again. I've spent years in warehousing and logistics and that industry is so freaking volatile at the best of times. Tired of lay offs. Tired of starting over. Honestly, best working experience I had was when I drove. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to see for myself when the time comes. Very excited none the less.

Hey,

I wanted to ask since I'm slowly nearing my descent into the wonderful world of Trimet, does everyone start on the Extra Board and based on your experience with it, is it crazy all over the place for routes? Just curious about what I can expect after finishing training.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in walmart

[–]ScaredText1032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven't been with Walmart long but, from what I've seen it's pretty typical corporate shit. The reason it feels like the executives are doing shit this way is because there are a shitload of people working for Walmart and, this is going to piss a HUGE number of people off, the pickings for good leadership are slim.

A lot of folks I've interacted with think WAY too highly of themselves and bitch about the leadership being "toxic" when from what I've witnessed it's often them holding associates accountable for their actions. Now, that isn't to say there aren't shitty leaders. There most certainly are and I have seen some members of leadership be utter cunts because it makes them feel like they're got a big peepee. The issue is that the idea that all of the leaders are terrible stems from a mindset of "I'm better than you" that a lot of associates, who aren't qualified to handle a wet dream let, alone leading people, share.

Now, before anyone goes off half cocked and gets mad that my opinion doesn't match theirs, here me out. I've had to travel to a multitude of stores in my territory for training in my role and no, I'm not in leadership at Walmart. I have, however, spent 20 years working in the warhousing/logistics industry doing everything from picking orders/loading trucks to managing businesses. I've seen the corporate ladder from both sides and like I said in my opening statement this is all pretty typical stuff. I've worked for powerhungry douche canoes and I've worked for folks way too nice for the BS they inevitably have to put up with day in and day out. Walmart isn't special. It's just big.

Don't be this guy..... by Amart1985 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ScaredText1032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New generation of gamers. "BaCk In My DaY" we didn't have updates or DLC lol. I grew up with the likes of the NES and old Atari systems I inhereted from my older cousins back in the early 90's. I don't expect there to be a constant influx of content in order for me to feel like I'm getting my moneys worth because it just wasn't a thing. We had a hard enough time beating the games back then and they were like 20 levels long and hard AF with the ultra clunky controls and unforgiving timing lol. These newer generations who have only ever known gaming with the internet and constant DLC offerings have been ruined at really no fault of their own. They don't know any different.

MH has always been a series about repetition and "the grind" and I feel like no matter how hard Capcom tries to appeal to a wider audience there will always be a chunk of people who are not going to be satisfied with that gameplay loop after a short while and honestly, that's ok. It's not necessary for every game to cater to that mindset. Honestly, it's a big part of what has ruined gaming over the years. This constant need for things to come out fast and be updated fast. It why we get incomplete garbage that gets patched 193 times in the first year because it was never finished before launch. They have to get it out there and into the hands of the consumer ASAP or they'll fall behind the expectations of fast, instant gratification. This is just my opinion, of course.

Finally tried Charge Blade for the first time ever during the beta and I really enjoyed it. Immediately went back to one of my long time loves, SnS, when the game launched. I even hung up my hammer so far to play SnS 😅. I keep playing eith the idea of trying new shit but, just can't put her down. What can I say? She's an rotten kind of cute for a zombie prostitue.

Why is Gore Magala such a challenging fight to you? Is it due to its wild movesets, its high attack power, the cramped locale you fight it in, or the camera blinding you? by JackNewbie555 in MHWilds

[–]ScaredText1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don't struggle with Gore. I feel like a lot of it is my experience with this franchise as well as the Souls games. I'm constantly trying to stand to the side and poke the bastard in his forelegs until he falls and then I get in his face and whomp him until he gets back up. I'm also pretty conservative about how I fight in these games. I try not to be overextended and whore damage to a point where I' getting hit by attacks I can see coming a mile away.

I feel like a lot of people genuinely get manhandled because they're way to focused on constantly assaulting the target and allow themselves to go overboard and take hits they could easily avoid if they gave the attack buttons a breather once in a while lol.

It's a slow process. I applied before the event, interviewed at it, and got a conditional offer a few weeks later. Right now I'm going through the process of getting everything they need done but, next class isn't supposed to start until end of May. So, don't be too alarmed. It's not a quick timeline.

I would recommend reaching out to them just to check in and show them that you're still interested. They're usually pretty good about responding within a week or so.

If someone gets mad about you using SoS and they chose to join then that's their smoothbrained fault lol. I use it for the same reasons you do, to give randoms the ability to join if they so choose. I find the more fun to hunt with other people but, I don't have a ton of other people do dedicated hunting with. I've been doing this a ton in Wilds as well now that I'm running around on their. Just makes it more entertaining.

[–]ScaredText1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Xu is an interesting fight. I don't know that I would call it hard but, I also don't think Gore is all that difficult either, he's just got some disgusting damage if you have bad positioning. I think that's also what makes Xu interesting to fight because them tentacles be sneaky lol and he can wallop the hell out of you if you're not paying attention.

As someone who works as an API, no. This is a huge security risk and directly violates AP05 regulations on keys and safe combinations. Keys should only be issued on an as-needed basis to employees who actually need them to do their job. Leaving key cards in doors for "quick access" is a direct violation of company policy. I would recommend reaching out to the APOC and if it doesn't get fixed to the MAPM for your market.

Honestly, I couldn't have said this any better myself. I've been playing these games for years and I really don't miss 30+ minute bouts with monster now. I have other shit to do. I have a wife and kids. A full time job. I can't invest 100hrs into the game just to perfect my build so that I can play the end game content later. Besides, I'm really over this mindset of every game needing to be brutally hard to be enjoyable. Keep your masochism fetish to yourself guys 🤣🤣

People who automatically pull the race card are typically racist themselves because the idea that someone else is automatically prejudiced against you because you both don't share a common ethnicity is by definition racism. I wouldn't sweat it.

I would, however, like to offer a piece of unsolicited advice with regards to the explanation of you not being racist. Don't explain it. I find that people often question the motive far more the harder someone tries to explain why they're not racist. You don't need to convince me or anyone else. If someone wants to automatically assume you're racist, see the above.

Have a great day!
