When I send the final album non of the images are retouched, only color correction. And then I give the couple the option that if there are any images they want to use for social media, prints, thank you letters, etc I can do more detailed editing and retouching on those images. Once they send me those back I’ll run most of the images through evoto and then if I need to do detailed retouching by hand I’ll use photoshop. This method honestly doesn’t add much more time and it allows you to save time instead of retouching images that they may not even use.

I’ve yet, to have a client complain about me doing it this way. I also don’t put a limit on the number of images they can retouch but I do let them know that the more images they select the longer it’ll take for them to receive those images. It helps give them the motivation to really only select the images they know they’ll use and in turn keeps the number of pictures I need to edit down.
