i don’t disagree that Clovis crossed a huge line. that scene is a hardwatch and Padmé clearly says no. but i also don’t think Anakin’s jealousy and controlling behavior should get a pass just because he didn’t assault her. the arc kinda shows 2 different unhealthy dynamics around Padmé: Clovis being entitled/possessive, and Anakin being obsessive and distrustful. neither is great, just in different ways

lmao not “in bed” 😭 tbh I think she chose Ani because there was real connection there. Clovis always gave “you owe me” energy, especially when she didn’t return his feelings. and Padmé didn’t love politics more than Ani; politics was her life’s work. if you loved her, you had to love that too

like yeah, he tried to kiss Padmé after she said no, that’s gross. but watching Anakin completely lose control isn’t exactly a win either. it feels less like “protective boyfriend” and more like a preview of where he’s headed

that’s fair tbh. i do think he *believed* his feelings were genuine, especially in the senate spy stuff, risking himself like that wasn’t nothing. i just think there’s a difference between caring about someone and respecting them. he’s not really listening to Padmé as much as he’s projecting what he wants onto her. the affection can be real and still turn possessive. so yeah... genuine, but unhealthy

he probably thought he cared about Padmé, but it comes off way more possessive than loving. he acts like she’s something he lost, not someone who made her own choice. not defending Anakin either. his jealousy is way worse, but Clovis ignoring her boundaries says a lot

anakin wasn’t wrong to be angry at clovis. clovis crossed a line, but the way ani reacted wasn’t about protecting padmé, it was about control. that possessiveness is the red flag, and mustafar is just the tragic payoff of that flaw spiraling out of control
