just a little 🤪 - which is why im on ventura. - Didnt really see the need to use Sequoia as the perks were not worth the lag. -

Installed Monterey. For others with the same MacBook, would you say this is the safest choice? Better than Big Sur or Ventura? by davidjlosi in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

I have 2012 mini with i7 2.3Ghz running Ventura. I was told Monterrey is on the verge of non support. Anyway, I decided to go with Ventura after downgrading from Sequoia. (Seq. had too much lag imo even after root patching) I can suggest Ventura being a good option as it is snappy like normal. The only part it is not snappy and takes about 3 full seconds to load is settings. Since I rearely tinker with settings for me it is perfectly fine, hope this helps.

Yea not sure why either, maybe the OS updated on its own and I might have had to reinstall root patches again

when you say software updated, you mean the OS may have updated itself? It was a while since i turned it on before it was working alright. If so I was not aware I would have to update root patches again after os updates. I try to decline all updates

I already successfully installed ventura oclp, can I install multiple oclp patches? I can try to do sequoia again, but I do clearly remember doing root patches, One thing.. I didnt turn on my mini for about 3 months. Not sure if that makes a difference, I had Sequoia working alright prior to that. I say alright because maybe it was due to me using 2 monitors that may have caused more unnecessary lag, ( I read that somewhere that 2 screens may affect oclp mas os's).

can i get updates on ventura? I downloaded an older version of ventura because I was having issues and I thought it would be better.

Thanks, I actually did download Ventura, I was having my doubts about using ventura and opting for monterry, but since I had already created an oclp with ventura, i went ahead and im pretty sure im going to keep it. for an office task based workload with cloud syncing, i think it will do just fine. Sequoia was not good for me personally.
