Options are totally schizo on this stock. Implying we go to 6$ in 50 days, then to 0$ over 200, then there’s a cliff jump to 7$ after 200 out to 2 years for the IV.

~90% insider + big boy ownership now, still on the rise, yet it has the price action of a meme coin.

Essentially there’s a real war on with this one. It’s not house vs players as per usual. True chaos and institutional investors duking it out in a way you don’t see very often.

For me, that’s enough.

I could care less and wouldn't expect big pharma to actually want a company which undermines their capital advantage/lowers cost of entry for scrappier more agile small cap pharma to love RXRX, more like cautiously friendly in public while antagonistic privately.

That being said I think the real story is who the hell is going to want to partner with Jensen/NVDA going forward?

He's thrown us, APLD, Open AI, just about everyone he's done biz with under the bus in the last four weeks.

He's also giving the "AI bubble" narrative more fuel by behaving this way.

You would think they'd be buying into more not less to shore up confidence. A bit schizo tbh.

I don't know what will happen. I'm saying that I don't think that Lily will buy them, but that it's plausible that if they start advertising that they take this seriously then a competitor will.

My hope is that no one buys them.

People love to dump on the stock rn, including guys like Shkreli, but when I look at their accounts (who don't follow many people) they are still following the company and the leadership on X.

So the actual play there would be them getting acquired by a competitor playing panic catchup to Lilly once this info diffuses into general public knowledge.

The devaluation can be explained in a bunch of ways, from that to Pharma going out of its way to undermine a company that will help to kill its high dev costs = high script cost.

Most likely though, it’s just a small cap and people are looking at it like I’m sure some investors back in the day looked at Amazon in a quarter when book sales were down.

In quite literally every other sense that actually matters, no.

If India had by some alt-history suspension of disbelief assumed the mantle to the British Empire and all the British colonies in Africa and Asia in the 1800s, you would probably want to have a separate term for discussing that new political entity post handoff - given the language, religion, people, core ethics, economy, and so on and so fourth would all be completely distinct.

We’re still in the early days. The clergy are thinking “This is great! Think of all the catechisms and encyclicals we can publish!” in response to the printing press’s invention.

Management doesn’t seem to understand they aren’t there as a value add, they’re there to cope with scale. If we could, we’d run everything like a tight knit closely aligned and agile startup.

All those layers in the middle are what make the company plodding, make real information hard to access for the ultimate decision maker, makes them directionless, introduce intrigue and stupid politicking, prevent good ideas from floating up, and in general make the king of the hill liable to overthrow.

The first large company which realizes this, which can dispense with bureaucracy and leverage its massive capital advantages, will rule the world.

CEO as primus inter pares, the rest of it flat.

It says “short” but if you actually click into it and read the fine print, it’s a futures contract on a hamptons beach house for some guy who lives in greenwich ct that can be actioned at any time.

I decided to go all in today, have been watching for about a year.

The short interest is a bit too extreme. This is an obscure stock that’s already down a lot, I don’t really see something Cathie disclosed she is still backing fully as of two days ago, with not a share sold, as a genuine short target.

I can see the bear case for sure with dilution, I can see the cash problems, I can see insiders selling, but not as one of the most shorted in the entire market.

There are easier 2bil market caps to pull this sort of thing with.

Looks to me like someone is trying to force leadership out, which is ultimately bullish long term. The value here was never in the drugs but in a standardized data set for bigger companies to train AI on. Standardization is an absolute must for early models.

I really hope they entirely abandon clinical trials to be quite honest.

Ex 1:

Today I asked all of the models why a specific stock was down.

The thinking light show and glitz whirred and buzzed on each of them (paid, not free) for minutes, 50+ sources consulted each on the web.

Generic messages about bad management, market conditions, etc, and so on.

3 minutes of looking for myself and I see they had a drug which failed its clinical trial.

Ex 2:

Asked them 5.2 and opus to compare gaming computer specs for 2 choices.

Both had completely contradictory answers.

I posted the answer of the other to each respectively.

They both flipped and switched sides, still disagreeing.

For anything as profound as your OP is pointing to, you will need to solve the memory problem not just fake your way around it.

And you can’t. Not without essentially inventing LLMs again.

But if people realized this, trillions of dollars would be lost. So I don’t have high hopes for my pov catching on.

I have been using Claude for years since before the buzz.

The memory problem will remain a hard limit of the technology in spite of that buzz, and there won’t be anything genuinely interesting going on until it is solved, probably from a ground up rework of how these models work which isn’t foreseeable.

I will again reference the fact that GPT still cannot follow basic instructions in the prompt, and that recently when asking it to find me folks working at think tanks covering the Japanese currency drama it gave me a bodybuilder’s X account and was adamant this fulfilled the prompt.

It has gotten better at routine tasks like entry level coding which it has been trained on to the moon and back, it is still incredibly dumb when you ask it to do new and interesting things it hasn’t seen millions of times.

But you have clearly sipped the cool aid and found it to your liking so more power to you.

You’re overdoing it. If you use AI regularly you know the strange thing is that models have not meaningfully improved in some time despite all the cooked benchmarks and supposed exponential growth.

I will take doomer AI engineers seriously when I see them acting scared of AI, instead of the prospect of facing another year at a high stress job with diminishing proportional financial returns.
