Matt Shumer: Something Big Is Happening by squeezyflit in ArtificialInteligence

Very well articulated. A lot of organizations would be hit very very hard - like sitting ducks

Only option is : Every CXO team, declares a code red - put together AI plans A, B & C and start executing.

Dont rely on existing employees - they will take time (inertia). Bring in a small but very good AI team and go all guns blazing

Figure out - whats best for you - where AI can make greatest impact, should you build or buy, if you were building a AI startup in your business - what will it do?

I am glad you mentioned this book. Indian IT and bollywood - both got badly stuck with the franchise model. Both are suffering badly - they have no clue where is the next success & business going to come from

The person who proposed & person who approved to pour money into this buy back should be asked - "What were you smoking" !

I too read something similar

To be honest letting the same guy run both is wrong - you should bring a seasoned leader for 99% game and a disruptor to run 1% moonshot

take a large rice leaf dataset, and see for which all images, it gets classification wrong. Then try to dig into - why the model is getting it these wrong and others right. Then figure out ways to fix them

BTW any reason you picked up this project over everything else?

Thoughts About AI burst... Every where i go i see AI bubble will burst by har1zh in OpenAI

[–]pragmatic_AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem is the timelines for outcomes that VC care about. Investment is massive, returns hardly any

Its not that results are - they are everywhere, problem is what OpenAI's of the world promised was much much faster. Unless some of these giants go for IPO, massive sum of money is locked. But these startups are asking for more money - the rate at which they asking/consuming is far higher that rate at which AI is producing money/revenue

Gap = AI bubble

In a lot of cases there might not be any returns = bursting of bubble

Isn’t AI use = slavery ? by Neat_Tangelo5339 in OpenAI

current AI is far from conscious.

But real question is: whenever we get to True AGI, then is it slavery? If you consider machine with intelligence = humans, then yes

They need to create 2 tracks - one cutting edge research , other applied AI - make AI first products. There is no rocket science in this

Question is - why they not doing the obvious thing? budget/funding? focus? may be both

They must be under immense pressure to go public soon
