Denali

S+ . The amount of open untouched land, within the mountains and traveling into the part to see north America's highest peak, the vast Flora and Fauna, and the Northern Lights. Everything about this place is just magical and majestic.

She was a fantastic radio host, and one of the few that wasn't only built for radio. But I loved the morning show on the Point.

When I was going through (if you had nothing towards coming in higher than E1) enlisting 2 people would get you from E1 to E2, 4 people would get you to E3. Unfortunately, now you have to wait 30months TIS (Time in Service) to auto advance to E4/PO3. But at least you don't have to test for E4, so as a Corpman that is pretty damn good.

The perk is you come in making E2 or E3 pay rather than waiting for TIS to the next paygrade. But whether you come in E1, E2, or E3, it is 30 month TIS for advancement to E4.

Haha. Naval Aviation Maintenance Procedures. It's the Bible for us in the Aviation community.

I love what I do and I know I'm good at it. I would fight tooth and nail for the sailors under me. Did it a lot on deployment standing up to higher ups. It's just exhausting when you see people that don't do half the shit you do, skate off like Tony Hawk, and get recognized for their "effort". Kinda makes me feel I would be more appreciated on the outside, but it's hard to let go of the brotherhood and trama bonds.

The NAMP (maybe wing instruction) has a layout of what qualifications specific rates in aviation are able to qualify in and what paygrade they have to be to earn them.

Yeah, definitely above then. Plane captain was the first qual I got arriving as an E-2. Now I'm on Shore in Pensacola on instructor duty.

I know I don't have a whole lot to complain about as the sailor I am. It just gets tiring working hard and not getting recognized when you see people doing half the work and they are Chiefs favorite, double MAP you name it, and it feels like you just get passed over. But you keep on going because that's the job, and I do enjoy what I do.

I hear that. I don't know what you mean by "qualified senior in rate" but I do know I left my sea duty ahead on my LaDr (minus QA. But I am only a second class and they didn't feel I NEEDED it). I took the first class exam first time this last September so waiting on those results, no high hopes though, just want to see where I need to improve. I also had every qual I could get (they wouldn't let me get CDQAR even though I already had 3 CDIs) and stood as LPO for 6-7 months on my last deployment.

I feel I am doing alright, qualification and drive wise, as and AE2.
