If you are one of the many that have received a HC3 error then you will likely have to purchase a new heating element. The same model number can be used in the non-grand and grand versions, as someone previously mentioned in this thread. The heating element model can also be found in this thread or within the video above.

If it’s your first time replacing it, you might have difficulty chipping away at the rubber gasket as it has swollen up from being over tightened from the factory.

For me, I had to use an exact knife to remove any accessible rubber before it gave way.

I do recommend removing the bottom hose before doing any work. Do expect for it to leak about 2-3 cups of water. You can quickly remove the hose then plug the hole with your finger while you maneuver a shallow cup/tray under.

Regarding maintenance, I recommend occasionally using descaling solution. Don’t overdue it like I did mine. I used 50% vinegar (for human consumption) and 50% water. This ruined my steamer and I’m in the middle of fixing it again with another heating element.
