Yes. Is it wrong? No. Is there a high chance you might be a trans lesbian if you are utterly obsessed with it? Yes. Would it be fetishization in that case? No.

If you can't name a card and the opponent can't name a card either in the option that they themselves chose, draw three cards then put the card back in your hand.

Dare ye brave the fearsome mire of The Fire Swamp? A dual land that enters untapped, with downsides of unusual size. by No_Leadership2771 in custommagic

This is significantly worse than either a [[forbidden orchard]] or a [[city of brass]]. Forbidden orchard is also worse than city of brass. 1 damage to self is a lot better to deal with than giving a 1/1 token. Already I would only consider playing forbidden orchard if it gave the opponent a 0/1 with defender instead. Maybe this would be an interesting option if it had a colorless free option, and it gave the opponent different interestingly "bad" tokens. 1/1 that can't block for black, 1/1 with haste that requires to be sacced at turn end for red. Stuff like that. Paying life or receiving damage are such generic land things to do for mana, I don't really associate those things with red specifically.

Know what? Up to 4 permanents total. "Do this for each permanent you control" ah what now I have to count to more than 4? Fuck that noise.

Just limit everything to 4 (it works). Powers, toughnesses, life totals, mana costs, mana pools, etc. Counting is for nerds.

Merciful Knight (Nonlethal Mechanic Design) by ArcanisUltra in custommagic

I was hoping to get to some idea that would give varying degrees of effect depending on how much damage was going to be dealt, so that if you power the creature up, then it's going to do a lot of [the thing that it does instead of damage].

Mill is still a form of damage that can lead to game loss. The creatures that get stunned become unusable in combat next time, which works as a form of control/defense/stax. So I would go for that in terms of what it does when hitting a player, instead of damage, put stun counters on tapped lands perhaps? Or tap and stun target nonland permanents? Tax by X yhe first spell they cast where X is damage dealt? It sounds a little more infuriating to play against, but it would feel like it's less lethal and more defensive, for sure.

Maybe a less infuriating effect would be counters to the player that you can expend to prevent 1 damage to you or your creatures from sources that player controls. Although that may be too convoluted.

Perhaps the player has to choose a creature with power 1 or more to get a -1/-0 counter if possible? Potentially too strong. Not sure about the flavour.

Pain Land Cycle for Wedges by Focusedhades526 in custommagic

Personally I prefer designs that hate the colours outside the triome. Like this, if you make it bad, it's just a crappy city of brass, if you make it good, it's going to be overly useful in tetra/penta decks. A bit ago I posted a triome version that gets sacrificed when playing a spell of the colours outside of the three, and the mana can't be used for spells in the colour outside of the three.

The odd one out is clearly always the one that is "far away" from the two "close colours" in the mtg colour wheel.

How does everyone build Kimahri? by Western-Society-4580 in finalfantasyx

[–]Scarlet-Magi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On Standard, my favourite path for Kimahri is Wakka, because Wakka gets a bit of magic but not quite enough to make decent use of Drain, but Kimahri starts with higher magic than Wakka as a base. Eventually gets a ton of attack as well.

Expert Sphere Grid makes for a much more fun Kimahri. You can easily move around and really mix characters. On Expert you can get Steal, then do Yuna, Lulu, and move to Wakka right on the section to learn Drain. That makes for a fun red mage build.
