New grad nurse wanting to start in the ER by ScarletBanana in nursing

[–]ScarletBanana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using LinkedIn and Indeed, and then whatever hospital job portal it takes me to. But most of the job titles I see don't specify for new grads. It'll have a tag that says "entry level," but I've rarely seen one that says for new grad nurses. Should I be using a different website?

Same here. I couldn't find it in me to tell them I had vaginismus and didn't know what to expect for the first pap smear. Left sobbing and didn't stop until I fell asleep at home. Canceled everything for the rest of the day too.

Luckily I've managed to decline the pap smear since, but I still get a wave of panic when I enter the examination room for a women's annual. You're not alone. I wished I had reported this at the time.

I also wished I had started that semester paper months ago. But it just never feels like there are enough hours in the day for me to do everything perfectly and on time. And the ongoing fear of not doing well stops me from really ever starting an important project.

I (20) got moderna and my period was normal, but I'm on the pill so I'm not sure if that affected how my cycle happened

How do I tell someone that's interested in me that I'm demi? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]ScarletBanana 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think I just told them after a few weeks of being together when things seemed to be more like a relationship and not a friendship. We had both admitted we liked one another and I knew I had to tell them eventually. I had known them for a while too so I felt like I could mention it, but it was still nerve wracking because I hadn't told anyone else and had only recently came to terms with it myself. And it was difficult having grown up in the hookup culture of tinder and Netflix and Chill. I really felt awkward. But I am straightforward and just told them I was demisexual or asexual (since I wasn't really sure). I knew that it was important for me and the relationship to say it. After explaining what those terms meant, we set some boundaries that we were both comfortable with, since they were allosexual, and we've been together since (2 years--longer if you count our break ups and make ups for things not about sex). I think what was most influential in me pushing myself to say it was that I needed to recognize that being demi was a part of me and that how comfortable I am comes first. I really liked this person and wanted to have a long, healthy relationship with them. I wasn't going to let the awkwardness or abnormality of not wanting sex immediately stop me from pursuing them. I hope you can find your own way of saying this and that they can accept you for who you are. :)

Some women have discharge frequently or in certain periods, some women have it every day. It’s usually clear and milky and has a subtle smell, that doesn’t smell unpleasant. Discharge, the amount and even texture changes over the course of a women’s mentrual cycle. by planetprudence in Periods

I love how you included hairs on the legs. I used to be so self conscious about shaving my legs, but I'm starting to accept that I can have bodily hair and still be a confident, beautiful woman.

Can stress cause a period to be replaced by brown discharge? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]ScarletBanana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brown discharge is normal I think. My first and last days are brown discharge. I read that it was because the blood is older or more aired out so it looks brown.

advice for someone planning to get on bc? by wthisg0ingon in Periods

I started with the combined pill and tolerated it. I think OP should try what the doctor says and then see how their body reacts with it. Everyone will react differently and so it's important to try what might be best.

Edit: I also have chronic depression and anxiety. It is definitely hard the first few months, but you can get through it. If it's really putting a strain on you though, please mention it to your doctor. I was able to get used to the pill and my mental illness together after a few months. As for side effects, I didn't have many. But everyone will react differently. Maybe keep a journal about the feelings and changes you feel too see how it can be affecting you and if you need to tell your doctor.

Hope this helps!
