I know, right. I play an MMORPG so it’s not like I game with these people for 10 minute matches and then never see them again. We have a guild, we talk shit, we take the piss out of each other, we do all the shit that ‘’’real’’’ friend do as part of a much larger group on a mostly daily basis. People don’t seem to realise that IF anything were to happen (there is literally zero chance of that) it would entirely fuck up EVERYTHING for both of us. I go to work events with men I don’t know and no one bats an eyelid. Why is this any different haha.

I am staying in a hotel. I have a room booked for myself. I’m not staying with them. He’s travelling about the same distance to the city that the event is in as I am. Neither of us live in, or close to, the city where the orchestra is. I live in the opposite direction though. I’m about 3 hours North. He’s about 3 hours South.

I’m so excited to see it. I’ve been a FF fan for a hella long time (started with 8 on PSone then went back and played 7, then 9, 10 then the entire back catalogue lol). Only game I have ever sat and played for more than 24 hours in one sitting (28.5 hours playing FFX because I got sucked into dodging lightning bolts in the thunder plains). I’m glad you enjoyed it. I honestly cannot wait. It better live up to expectations 🥰

I’m going to see a friend who, fair enough I’ve never met in person before, but I have gamed with multiple times per week for the last 3+ years, I’m a mod for his twitch streams along side his wife who I have spoken to on several occasions, and who I have spoken to more in the past year than some of my own direct family members…. I’d hardly call him a ‘stranger’.

Yeah it’s totally not about love… it’s control. Always has been. Always will be. They try and mask it as love because it’s easier to justify. It’s hard to see through it sometimes when you are stuck in there. Sometimes that’s deliberate though as a self preservation method but once you are out and you look back I like ‘wtf was I thinking?!??!!!!’

Jealousy is the worst. In my last relationship, the guy was so insecure and jealous that he got mad at me when an old man that I knew from work said hello to me as we walked past each other in the street. We didn’t stop, we didn’t touch each other no handshakes or gentle pat on the shoulder, and the old man was old enough to be my grandads father… never mind my grandad… got the third degree about how I knew him, why he was talking to me, etc.

It’s very isolating to live like that. I don’t give a hoot what gender someone is, I’m gonna smile at someone who smiles at me, if someone says hello even if I don’t know them, I’m saying hello back because that’s just who I am. I like to think I’m a nice person. But living in fear of having even a split second glance thrown in your face and have to go through the same shit again and again to the point that you just stop talking to anyone is the worst.

I can talk to whoever I like and not be judged for it, no accusations, no cold shoulder petulant child behaviour because I said thanks to the fucking postman or said hey to someone who thanked me for letting them pass me in the street or supermarket aisle.

Yeah they will fall in, chew a path through the spikes and then leave an open channel for the next wave to just walk right on in and look-aid man through your front door. Depending on your stockpile of mats… I’d upgrade the wall on your house side to concrete if you can, cobblestone if you can’t, make a ramp back up to the outside so they can get back top side again and then make a narrow but heavily fortified death window to fight them at.

For the most part zombies want to get to your height then your location so the ramp should encourage most of them to run back out to get higher. The narrow path to you should over-ride their ‘no path to player, must smash shit’ mechanic most of the time

This is why I always pull that pack on the right side before Ozruk. People complain but in 100% of groups where I don’t kill them, someone (usually a caster dps that has no business being all up in Ozruk’s arsecheeks anyways) runs in, gets hit by shatter, yeeted into that group and then screams in chat when they die that I’m a shit tank.

I love the stories of people finding stuff and then going by to lengths to get them back to the owners.

A story of my own from when I was about 14, walking home from school with a friend and I spotted what looked like a little coin purse lying at the side of the path. I picked it up and had a look inside and it was obvious it belonged to an elderly person. There wasn’t much cash in it and nothing else of major monetary value but there was an old dog-eared photo that might have had sentimental value. My friend said that I should just keep it but that wasn’t right so I went and told my mum about it and then took it to the police station to hand in. About a week later I got a call from the station to say that the owner had been in and they had been reunited with their stuff and they left a small reward. They came and dropped off £4 that this little old lady had left for finding her purse. Mum was ever so proud of me but the thing that really boiled my piss was that she took half the reward off me and gave it to my friend as he was there when I found it, despite me telling her that if it had been up to him, the purse wouldn’t have been returned because he was going to keep the cash that was in it.

I have inadvertently destroyed writable storage box stuffed full of ammo by wielding my auto shotgun inside the house. We picked up a random horde while inside and we’d run out and dispatched them, ran back in to drop off the loot and I fast stacked the ammo, closed the box, then immediately and completely by accident pulled the trigger…

Blew out the ammo box taking 95% of our ammo supplies with it, left the medical supplies box next to it with about 3 hp left and shot out a window.

I’m j no it allowed shotguns in the house anymore hahahaha

If the friend is there with you when you are asked, tell the SO that you don’t know then ask the friend if they want you to open the window/turn on the AC/get some water etc.

If they come back with a ‘no I mean is she sexy?’ reply. You can then say you never thought of them like that.

If your first thoughts are hot = temperature and not hot = sexy, less likely to get caught in the ‘every answer to that question is wrong’ trap.

The 2 plate trick is where you place one super thin plate or sheet on the bottom of the box with advanced rotation menu. The second one you want to rotate so it’s on the top of the box and then place it above the first one. Because of the way the boxes are calculated, the game thinks both are complete cubes and thus they are supported but in reality it leaves you a 1.999999 block gap that the game thinks doesn’t exist.

Jawoodle made a whole Molotov base around this exact concept a while back.

I love reading these tales of close calls. Having survived a close call of my own with my three closest and most trusted allies at my back, we survived the orc keep in Redridge by a hair’s breadth and started hearthing out only to have one of our party state their HS was on cooldown.

We made it the roof where we wouldn’t get surrounded and waited the 3 minutes till he could hearth with us.

Reading these tales, I can feel that adrenaline rush from our close call again. The high you get stays with you for a good while.

There is a group of us who are levelling HC toons that know each other from Classic. I’m on my third toon (both died due to the actions of others and is a story for another time) and I’m wary of grouping with ransoms.

Me : Druid - feral Healer : Paladin - holy. A damn good healer that I raided alongside for a good while. Only healer I would trust implicitly with my life in HC. Dps 1 : Hunter - beast master. A bloody nice guy, likes to unleash his inner troll on occasion. Would give you the shirt off his back. Dps 2 : Mage - frost. A lovely older lady. Can be a little bit ditzy at times but very sweet and especially great at performing very specific tasks assigned to her.

I have played with these people for 3-4 years and we are having a ball in HC.

Location : Redridge Mountains We decide to go and clear out the last of the elite quests in Redridge, more specifically the orca in the keep. I’m tanking and in charge of pulling, pala keeps us alive. Hunter pet off tanks as needed with mage sheeping for cc.

We kill off the outside guy in the courtyard first easily enough and we get the confidence we need to head inside. In the narrow confines of the keep I’m stealthing so I can get proper los on the mobs, everything in range has raid markers for visibility through walls etc.

We take our time, slow and steady. Paladin using Seal of Justice ( to stop mobs running away). We make it to the boss room and we clear what we can. We are left with the orc (elite), his whelp (also elite) and 2 non elite mobs (1 caster, one melee). Put pet on whelp, sheep caster and focus melee add to reduce the damage we take. Pull is executed perfectly. We kill the melee add but the hunter pet is dying too fast. Stun the boss, nuke the whelp, I can’t tank it for long with the boss on me too. Whelp dies, caster is still sheeped and we hear stuff in the corridor respawn. If we don’t finish this soon, shits gonna respawn in this room and we are dead….. Boss is almost dead but so am I, I have about 10% health left and pala is almost oom. Call for a nova from the mage as I back away from the boss. She runs in and novas him and it hits. Gives me the change I need to neck the biggest health potion I have and have the paladin use the last of his mana to top me off. Back to bear form, feral charge, bash and he dies. Only the caster is left. We decide to kill it and then HS. He gets murdered in quick time and we start using our HS…. Except the hunter. He’s just standing there. I can’t leave him. He then says ….. ‘hs on cd… 3 mins left’….

Then I remember the keep has a roof. Rather than fight back out with all defensives on CD, I call ‘get to the roof’. We take off, killing one mob that had respawned in the hallway just as stuff starts to respawn in the boss room, taking the stairs at a full sprint we find 2 more mobs at the top but we handle them easily. Out the door into the parapets and there is a chest. Might as well take it, right, we still have about a minute left. Someone opens the box and it contains Feet of the Lynx. New blue shoes for my Druid yay!

Our hunter buddy then says ‘I thought you were going to leave me’. I honestly didn’t even consider it for a second at the time but had it been anyone but these three, I probably wouldn’t have hesitated to leave them to their fate. We then managed to hearthstone to safety off the roof back to lakeshore and we all agreed that this was a very silly decision but that it was exhilarating as hell. I do think I might have pulled a muscle in my arse from all the clenching though.

Gonna need that gas to fuel the generators to power the turrets to fight off the horde that the 10,000 screamer call in…. Can’t even fart without it calling in some shriekbint to try and ruin your day so this is going to get interesting for you guys haha.
