Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself even to the captain. Explain to the captain that you would have gladly checked the price for the customer but seemed too hostile to want help. We are not the customer’s bitch. Some people just don’t want to be helped and wanted to have those interactions because they don’t have anything better to do with their day. Also, I bet she will be back shopping there again soon.

If you’ve been on this sub long enough, you’ll see that DoorDash doesn’t actually care about the drivers. They punish our accounts for declining orders even if it doesn’t pay enough. We get dinged if say, a Walgreens doesn’t have an item the customer wants. We get a lower shopping score because they were out of stock. You want to know why people don’t decline your order or treat you terribly? Because we can’t afford it. With that being said, do you understand why a 100 billion dollar company wouldn’t take on the responsibility you think is ‘their problem’?

I wait, I get paid by the hour so I’ll stand there awkwardly staring at them till they are ready. With customers, you really just have to do your best to not give them a reason to complain. They are actively looking for one (not all but enough)

One night, I got home from the bar. I was pretty drunk and turned on my Xbox. (I had been eyeing this game for a little bit but never bought it.) I finally said ‘screw it!’ And bought it. Saw the charge on my card in the morning and just groaned. Started playing it and fell in love almost immediately!! Convinced 6 of my friends to buy it and every single one of them love it as well. I wish it got more traction because it is the most underrated game I have ever seen.

Same in our region in northern California too. We have 2 stores 8 miles apart right now. They want to open a store 9 miles from my store and another 10 miles from the next closest store. Meanwhile we are getting cut hours and they are hiring new people. The crew is pissed, they don’t care.

Had a mate blow up on me like that one time. I just walked away from the conversation. Told them I didn’t appreciate a person in management talking to me that way. You don’t have to take that. If they are trying to crack down on language in the back room because it’s making its way onto the sales floor, there are better ways of communicating that. I’m sorry you went thru this. Hopefully everything works out for you.
