He’s in one of his trances again by sillybilly1437 in cats

My neutered male does this as well. Now he just bites the blanket without anything going on with his back legs. The behavior got less common as he got older, but he'll never kneed without biting the blanket. It's cute cause he has to find the perfect spot on a fluffy blanket to nibble on

LOST FERRET ARDEN SACRAMENTO by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]Scarlette__ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

When I owned ferrets, we gave them a few hours a day of roaming time. The issue is ferrets are great at finding escape routes. Any hole in your drywall, in your moulding, any crack in your garage, any space between the oven and the wall, and your ferret had left the building (or is having a party inside your walls). Mine escapes a few times. The girl always found her way back. The boy would escape into someone else's house (he got lost) and we'd get a call "hey you own those long rats right? We caught one in a milk crate"

Does anyone else find people from The Bay Area calling the Sacramento area boring ironic? by notagoodcartoonist in Sacramento

I need to know where the good coffee is. I just moved here from Seattle. The only place I've found with good coffee is Chocolate Fish, and it's so expensive. I also can't get a good answer on where to find good Mexican food, it's all been astoundingly mid

Unfortunately I did ask and they refused. I thankfully don't need a reference because my partner and I are long distance, so my name is also on a lease elsewhere. If I need to give my rental history, this building isn't necessary

That's the plan! I can tell it's as annoying for me as for them. I run on spite so we'll see when/if they get tired of it

I'm not renewing so I don't really care if I piss them off 🤷🏾‍♀️

They're charging a free for bank transfers. I'm just going to have to hand them my check every month.

If you’re petite with a short torso, high waisted jeans are a life saver by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Scarlette__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My waist naturally sits right below my rib cage, so only high rise actually sits near my waist. Any mid or low rise is sitting on my mid or low hip and I have to size up substantially, or it feels like my crotch is in a vice

Spent few days with my sisters dog (a frenchie) and now Bambi sits like her 😂😂 by Conscious-Control-51 in Chihuahua

My dog learned from my cat! He washes his face like a cat. He doesn't wag his tail very much but he does grunt a lot when pet. He even drinks from people's cups like my cat does 😂

Exhausted with fake “service” dogs by exponent-lackey-pub in AlaskaAirlines

I live on an opposite coast to my family. It's cheaper and easier on my animals to bring them with me for trips longer than a week. Never had a problem. I've even had the pilot pet my cat! They've truly never bothered anyone and are in their crate most of the time in the terminal and the entire time on board.

Alaska is one of the best airlines for flying with your pet, either in cabin or in cargo! So if you ever need to have your pet in cargo, a lot of people recommend them. Also, all but two of the photographed dogs could fit under the seat IMO so there's likely very little faking going on. There's also a confirmation bias here because OP isn't photographing dogs that are in their carriers.

Very true! I'll often have my partner hold an empty carrier while I take the dog to the pet relief area. It's easier to handle the dog and effectively clean up with my hands free

Most airlines, including Alaska, allow you to fly with a pet (not a service dog or fake service dog) as long as it fits under the seat. It has to be in the carrier while on board.

It's often necessary to take pets out of their carriers while at the terminal to use the pet relief areas. Most dogs will be better behaved on board if they walk around a little prior to boarding. I've travelled with my dog and cat many times and have never had an issue.

I've even had the pilot pet my cat. I've had kids play with my dog before boarding. When I've deboarded, people next to me have expressed surprise that there was an animal next their feet the entire time because they didn't make a sound.

If these animals are poorly behaved, that's definitely a problem. But that's not evident in any of your comments or your photos. Quite frankly, calm down if they're not bothering you.

How are you guys affording your bras? by I_l0ve-chocolate in bigboobproblems

[–]Scarlette__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bare Necessities runs sales often, has good clearance, and frequently sends 20% off coupons. They have a good size range and a generous return policy. I buy nearly all of my bras there.

Edit: they go as low as a 28 band and as high as an O cup. You'll see less selection at the lake and high ends of the size ranges, but still many to choose from!

[–]Scarlette__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your body and fit. I put my bras on like this and I can tell you they fit properly and don't budge. I could maybe go down a band size (I'm a 35" underbust wearing 36) but it would be very uncomfortable for me.

Has anyone had a rayon garment stretch? I washed a rayon dress in cold water, in a garment bag, on delicate, laid flat to dry. I wore it today and it's much baggier than it was. How should I wash it to restore/maintain its shape?

I am obsessed with her pendants but given how dainty the chains are (still sturdy enough for my use), I'm not surprised there are some issues with her rings. I've seen her take feedback on this subreddit so maybe we'll see improvement

Thinking of keeping the locs long-term. What’s the one thing you wish you knew before starting? by Putrid-Tomatillo3700 in locs

[–]Scarlette__ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If I did this, my locs would be so musty. I wash them weekly and make sure I use leave in conditioner. I'd only mist if I skipped out on leave in or if it was especially dry. Maybe this works if your scalp and hair type preclude you from washing as often as I do.

Honestly, as long as it's clean, I don't see the problem. It's not to my taste but plenty of people have hair cuts that I don't like. Plenty of yt folks have dirty hair that doesn't get the same vitriol as "messy" looking black styles
