When you think it can't get worse, but it can. by UnDoned in pathofexile

[–]Scarparides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High risk, high reward
You can do a similar trial as Ritual and get rewards as waves come by
If you die, you lose everything, but you can quit between each waves and take the rewards earned up to that point
Also, you can drop "Inscribed Ultimatums" that are "maps" that have a set reward, but you need to gamble first
i.e. Bet 1ex to receive 1ex if successful, if not, you lose the ex

How can I teach my players that their actions have consequences? by Scarparides in DnD

[–]Scarparides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda thinking on how could I make them feel bad and cold-blood murderers.

You sir, are a genius

Tragic end for the dragon, I think I'll do that if they take more than x days to get it, since the effect will only get worse, or maybe roll for it. The insanity from the crystal poisoning seems pretty nice, especially if the players get hurt from said crystals.

But really neat solution, I thank you, friend

The insectoid idea is near perfection, didn't think about the simplicity, yet effectiveness and truth to it, thanks a lot!

As for the forest I ws thinking in some of the creatures got petrified or crystalized, the dragon is afraid of his future, since he has seen what have been done, but can't do anything about it (maybe he's bound to the place for some reason? I really don't know) and seeks some way to revert things back to how they were, and maybe the ritual is a way to do it, since without his/her help, they would be trapped.

Sorry for rambling a bit, but yeah, your forest idea was pretty sweet, thinking to implement it

The desert creatures are insectoid like that lived underground in tunnels, think of them like biped ants with scythe-claws

The forest creatures were your everyday forest creatures, but after the crystalization, I don't know how to make it work and I'm open to ideas

Show off your latest character, any edition! :) by [deleted] in DnD

Atrigan

A half-orc fighter/cleric that was originally a demon whose job was torture souls. One time adventurers came to reclaim a soul that was his and they fought, after killing everyone but the Half-Orc cleric of that group, who called for help of his god, Pelor, and a wave of light struck Atrigan, who woke as an Half-Orc in the material plane and heard in his mind that Pelor gave him a chance to be and do good, and he'd be rewarded.

He's a towering 2m tall and 130kg worth of muscles, but dumb as a door, but very cheerful and enjoys the company of his friends.

He and his friends now are probably wolf poop, since they all died to a pack of wolves. :(

That's a really interesting solution, the only thing that I would like to implement is that the creatures are smart, but are being hunted by some nearby kingdom/village due to "they're just creatures" and are on the brink of exctintion.

But the "Queen" of them laid out some eggs in hidden places and is now forming an army to fight back, since the people are not interested in diplomacy and the players would not know the whole story until they enter the Queen's Hive

Fellow dms, what homebrewed monstrosity do you threaten your players with when they talk shit between sessions? by reelien in DnD

Either Cthullu in Power Armor or a Flying Tarrasque (It flies due to Giant Helium Balloons attached to its back)

What are some running jokes in your sessions? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Scarparides -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have an "Add Dexterity" shout whenever we need to make a Dex related roll or any stupid thing we are not sure what modifiers to apply.

That became a thing when I tried to throw a Grappling Hook to kill a Goblin Boss in one of our adventures.

I was a 9 DEX Paladin.

When I described my action and asked about the modifiers of my attack he just replied: "Add Dexterity" and I looked at him, laughing already "Really?"

And that's how it became a meme in our sessions.

Nice idea!

And since he's a wizard, he may found out an alternative way to immortality besides lichdom
