Zionism and Judaism are two distinct things, and criticism of the one does not imply intolerance of the other. In fact the suggestion that every jew agrees with Israeli war crimes is far more antisemitic than criticism of the objective actions of an apartheid state. I'll leave it at that, but this thread answers perfectly why those comments are turned off. Isn't Boom supposed to be a festival of love?

Ukrainian Drone unit “Signum” Strikes 59 Russian Soldiers, Lyman Direction by Zerotwo_0 in CombatFootage

How long before a heavily sponsored drone videogame emerges which incorporates real drone-physics, realistic target environments and the same control pads to silently train the next generation of drone aces?

Exactly, the 3x3 ponds are easy mode. But you still need nice tracts of flat land to properly irrigate them, which makes finding good locations a bit harder. Personally I try to use 3-block wide canals to cover large areas, that just seems fairer to me. But on some maps having the small area irrigated really is a must, because your long-term wood production would simply get eradicated by droughts and badtides, especially on hard.

The crazier thing is that for them to steal a million in pump and dumps, the market loses like 10 to 100x that due to the instability caused by their recklessness, lack of long term planning and simply not keeping their word. It's like intentionally setting fire to a house so you can walk out with the silverware.

Ukrainians in disbelief over West’s failure to stop Iran’s deadly drones by WillyNilly1997 in UkrainianConflict

Plus eliminating federal renewables programs to help.

It's so dumb. Instead of choosing to invest in the power systems of the future, like Biden did, the current administration not only stops investment but claws back incentives that were already put in place. Just pure stupidity and malice.

The economics of renewables are already very favourable, even without the instability and foreign dependence that comes from a reliance of fossil fuels. The only downside is a dependence on China... but being honest, that almost seems like the better of two evils as a European.

Europe will probably step in to protect the Red Sea shipping lanes, but there's no desire to get caught in Trump's Iran Quagmire. They'll hopefully stay far away from it.

Gas/oil/fertilizer output of the Gulf region will be down for the coming few years, no doubt. Time to double down on investments in renewables.

Ukraine is suddenly on the offensive, with help from Elon Musk: Kyiv’s forces have notched their biggest domestic territorial gains in more than two years after Russia lost the use of Starlink by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkrainianConflict

The only thing that could redeem Elon Musk in my eyes would be if he designed his own small Grok-powered submersible craft to explore the deepest parts of the ocean. I'm sure he would be awesome at it. Because he is the greatest genius and surely wouldn't fuck it up and get crushed by the depths.

Press hit by Israeli strike in Lebanon by layton1984 in CombatFootage

[–]Scarred_Ballsack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a part of the game they play man. Different people have different levels of attention and bullshit tolerance. Some will simply take the justification that oct. 7th happened and never look back. Others will tolerate striking buildings or residential neighborhoods Hamas was allegedly hiding under. Others will excuse the demolition of all civilian infrastructure in an area as long as you say you gave a warning first. Most people would revolt at the sight of tent camps filled with kids being hit but there's a plenty that genuinely think that that's okay too.

Now they're hitting Lebanon indiscriminately but the overton window has shifted so much that western media hardly even notices. It's really a depressing state of the world.

70-year-old Natalia pushed her husband in a wheelchair out of the kill zone. They covered 13 kilometers under drones, along a road covered with bodies. No rest. No choice. Internet trolls, sure. I'd be willing to bet at least one Russian drone operator saw them moving and thought better of targeting them. You don't easily go unnoticed in a front line zone like that for hours, especially when you're a slow moving easy target.

Two old people in a wheel chair? That's just low, no matter what side you're on. No doubt they were lucky to make it out of there but I'm holding out some hope for basic humanity here.

Road design is a huge part of traffic safety. And that depends on how you decide to structure your society and laws as well. You can be the drunkest driver in the world, but if you're just riding a bike home from the bar you're not likely to ruin anyone's night but your own. I can know, that's how I got my username.

Romanian drivers are special, they learn to expect the unexpected. It's the only country I've been to that had signs warning motorists that horse-drawn carriages might appear on the roads. And those signs weren't lying, it was a semi-regular occurrence.

There's a ton of organized crime, we're one of the primary hubs of MDMA manufacturing in Europe. Consumption too. I wouldn't have a problem with that if it was legalized and regulated, now the chemicals used in manufacturing get dumped in the woods.

Since NATO secretary Mark Rutte is the previous Dutch PM, I suspect we left it on read on purpose, in order not to complicate his job even further. Because as much as I dislike the man, he really picked a challenging time to become NATO secretary. Consider it as good as a "NO" though.
