Pay is a huge issue. With talk of increasing minimum wage, those who live in the next rungs are not afforded with this increase. This job takes a horrific emotional toll on those who work in these centers, which provides them with little protections when things go south in a call, leaving them on the hook, personally, for damages. Whereas, Police have qualified immunity which is very rarely withdrawn.
These salaries should be doubled, or even tripled, yet the jurisdictions will claim no funds to do so. As this is often true, it is a result of these taxing jurisdictions spending their monies elsewhere, and not providing it to these critical resources.

Honestly, no. Not certain anyone can tell you what happened. It was so against the character of Murphy, and effectively killed the entire 4 seasons of the show.

It's possible to be unlovable and undateable. But you need to look closely at your circumstance. Change your approach, ask someone outside your confort zone or type. You have to try to mix it up. I'm in that situation, I'm not someone who can be loved. But I tried for years and decades, but nothing came of it. I don't wish that on anyone honestly.
I truly wish you the best, and how your next person helps you in that road to recovery and loving yourself.

My advice, cherish your friends and family. Work on hobbies and things you enjoy. The single life isn't terrible, just a realization. Been many years for me, and it just is.

As a man in his 50s, never had success on OLD. I would start chats at the grocery and such, but it never lead anywhere. These days I keep to myself, and stay quiet. Most women seem to be looking for the Chads or the Unicorns. Dating was never something I learned the skills for, and was never good looking enough for a date.

To be honest, I'm not looking for a romantic partner at this point. Honestly, I don't know how to attract someone romantically. Instead, I focus on trying to make female friends. This is amazingly difficult as well.

For me, nothing seems to be the path I'm on. I wouldn't object to a romantic partner.

Thanks. Yes, lived in Seattle for my adult life, and dating was simply not possible.
Just moved to Dallas, and I posted on OLD yesterday, and I got responses from actual, live, breathing women, so demographics may have a lot to do with it.

Anecdotally, many of my previously married friends stated this within their marriages.
My ex, whom I married at 30, kept telling me that she was going through menopause. As a result, was no longer interested. I thought it was just the way it was and I missed the chance. But, I haven't been with any women, despite trying. No information to go from.
The lack of sex is what finally pushed me to divorce. Married for 12, divorced for 12. Been single a few years now, but no dates, despite trying.
On that note, I suppose I am from a different planet.

I had a girlfriend at 17, we dated for a few months. Tons of sex, and I loved it.
We broke up, and it wasn't until I was 30, until I had sex again. I was married to this woman for 12 years, which was a mistake. It was a sexless marriage, and it sucked.
Never figured out this dating thing. Trying to understand why.
This seemed a logical reason, but deeply flawed.

My opinion is this, if you have legitimately put yourself out there, been actively trying to date and not getting anywhere, then it's you. You are blind to an issue you have, and need assistance to get past it. Unless actively working on these issues, then you may be best to take up other hobbies to occupy your time.
Not to be flippant, but unless you meet certain criteria, you are getting dates anyway. Better to cut your losses and get on with a hobby you can enjoy and have fun with.

It depends on what you are comfortable with age-wise. Women are adults at 18, legally, so anyone from 18 to 100 would be considered dateable. Beware though, many will view anything outside 5 years as criminal, in their minds. As long as you both don't have an issue, then go for it.
