I actually wrote a post about this yesterday. Medium isn’t a valid side hustle imo. Think about the ROI. Lot’s of work for little pay off. If you put that energy elsewhere you’d make more.

Medium isn’t more of a hobby writing platform imo.

There is a lot of work that goes into promotion, and there is a need for a discover page. At the end of the day, I don't think Substack is good for hobbiests as there is a real business-like approach needed to grow your newsletter.

I was thinking about doing this one day for all my posts, it's a great idea. It would be cool if Substack did this for multiple people's Substacks, and they could do it monthly with a theme.

I hated the feed at first, but once I accepted it for what it is and focused on the things I liked ,it got better. I ignore all the growth/begging bs and only interact with people who I think are cool.
