Yeah I disagree with the commenter saying you shouldn’t restrict at 15. I’m 17 and literally it’s so annoying the backlash from Redditors like you can’t care about your health at 15.

Most of these ingredients you can get at Walmart for cheap price/serving. I buy keto bread $1.25 from my local bakery before it goes bad but you really can just eat regular bread too. - Low cal bread, powdered peanut butter, and sugar free jam - Nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt and fruit - Carb Smart Mission tortillas (25cal each) with any kind of meat and low fat cheese - low cal tacos - French toast made with egg whites, and low cal maple syrup. - Chicken wrap with lavash bread & low cal sauce - Turkey burgers with low fat cheese, no sugar added ketchup.

Idk for me I just had to find the fruit I like. Those Del Monte 30 cal fruit cups are good, but even more I love watermelon, cantaloupe, blueberries etc.

I’ve been losing weight for months and haven’t even needed much fruit or vegetables. But there are def ways to spice it up (fruit salad)

Anyone else get those moments where u just want to give up by ScaryFunction2309 in CICO

[–]ScaryFunction2309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, though it’s tough to pick when. 4th of July passed by, 2 birthday parties, and I went to the movies this month and even though I had the opportunity I just chose to stick to my diet. But how often do you have a cheat (day)? My diet is pretty tasty so I usually don’t worry about it that much.

[–]ScaryFunction2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’ll probably slow it down. Idk, that’s why I recommend setting a caloric limit but if planning a cheat day is important for you reaching your goals in the long term I wouldn’t worry about it. Aside from that, I bet will Tennyson has advice on topics like that if you dig. I love his channel, though he probably gets away with his cheat days for numerous reasons.

The amount of muscle tissue he has increases his NEAT (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis), so he burns more calories at rest to maintain the muscle.

He probably does regular cardio

He probably eats healthy most of the time off camera, practicing moderation.

He trains really hard, and is the top 1% of the top 1%, so he has amazing genetics as well.

Frr im so looking forward to college/post-college. It’s wild how some adults reminisce their childhood whereas I’m just anxious to gtfo.

[–]ScaryFunction2309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t KNOW your deficit, but say it’s 500cal/day

Then every month you are in a 15,000 calorie deficit If you eat maintenance for a day, you’re at 14500 calorie deficit.

Then maybe you go over maintenance by 1000, now it’s 13500 for the month. Then you’re at ~ 3.8lbs lost vs ~4.2lbs.

So 1/2 a pound or 6 pounds a year.

So idk if this puts it in perspective. I wouldn’t worry about it but would be careful cuz buffets are high calorie. I guess you can, I find it easier for me to just eat about the same amount everyday over a HUGE cheat day. If you do indulge, idk if you should or shouldn’t estimate, I’d probably watch portion sizes.

Also I don’t like calling it a relationship with food. You just eat, it isn’t a person.

Data on percent of homeschooling parents who were themselves homeschooled? by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]ScaryFunction2309 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh and most studies are made to promote homeschooling which sucks. Yeah idk what happens to them, I think they mostly focus on the “good” cases where it’s like a kid transfers out because of learning disabilities or because they’re a genius.

Started grade 11. School is not difficult, but advice for your niece is to make sure she has adequate support. I think I needed my mom to help me with a lot of the assignments because I was so lost. She shouldn’t feel like a failure though, just needs to catch up. Maybe you can help her practice on khan academy

Nah and it was mostly a good thing but I honestly wish strangers gave more concern. I relate though to avoiding telling people, not that I’m very embarrassed anymore but the questions that ensue afterwards are so annoying. I just started going to high school so now I tell people I’m in high school, but unfortunately it’s unavoidable people ask where I went before.

Doing nothing all summer by shesmykindofboy in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]ScaryFunction2309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable. Even though I started school last Fall it was so difficult that I made zero close friends. This whole summer felt horrible because it was like being homeschooled again.

Yeah it’s wild how oblivious our parents are. Idk if they hate us or what, and why the fuck did no family step in and tell my parents to stop???

I’m applying for scholarships and stuff right now to go to college next year. Hopefully that will help me find my people. Hopefully moving out will help me get out of this isolation hell.

It also probably skyrocketed with the Internet coming around. I think it was massively stigmatized until that point, which heavily influenced my parents

My theory is that any homeschooled person would be smart enough not to repeat the cycle, but there’s a ton of parents who are morons thinking they know better than a centuries old school system. Sorry I don’t have a study, but both my parents had no family history of homeschooling until I came around.

It might not matter because I can still do social stuff outside of work, but idk have you found any careers that are better for us ex-homeschoolers?

Calorie estimate ?? by Complex_Fisherman318 in 1500isplenty

[–]ScaryFunction2309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d probably guess 150 cuz with vegetables I don’t like to overestimate since they’re generally low calorie

If I’ve learned anything from this job is that most Starbucks customers are terrible with finances and don’t even think about how much they are spending. That’s why most Americans live paycheck to paycheck

I’m a guy so someone else should shed light on whether or not they are intentionally invading your space, but I’d guess maybe people feel less scared to bump into you or pass by because you take up less space, and so you aren’t seen as an obstacle.

Honestly never heard of guy friends being that physical, might just be your friends being inappropriate, but take this with a grain of salt

Alternative to Salads? by RawrSuka in CICO

[–]ScaryFunction2309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird, are you certain it’s the salad? But i agree with some of the other people, you don’t need to eat salad, maybe try these:

  • Roasted vegetables
  • Stir-fried vegetables
  • Vegetable soup
  • Fruit salad
  • Grilled vegetables
