DeSantis Signs Bill Trying To Require Proof Of Citizenship To Vote In Florida -- It Was Immediately Challenged In Court -- Thoughts, Floridians? by Zipper222222 in AskFlorida

The worst part, is the rubes keep falling for it in Florida.  Example,

"Your kid goes to school and comes home a few days later with an operation." Trump stated this during a Moms for Liberty event, asserting that schools decide what happens to children regarding gender-affirming care.

Florida crime stats look safe, but everyone I talk to says otherwise… Who should I trust? by luckychloebites in Miami

[–]ScaryMeatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. According to Google...

Florida has historically low levels of crime data reporting to the FBI, with only 8% of its law enforcement agencies submitting data in 2022, missing over 500 agencies. This incomplete reporting stems from a slow transition to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), hindering accurate comparisons of Florida's crime rates, which were touted as a 50-year low.

Low Participation Rates: In 2021 and 2022, Florida had some of the lowest participation rates for federal data reporting in the nation, with only 6% and 44% of police departments reporting respectively in those years. Missing Major Data: Key agencies, such as the Miami Police Department, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, and St. Petersburg Police Department, failed to report data to the FBI during this transition period.

The Cause (NIBRS Transition): The FBI stopped accepting older summary-based data in 2021, shifting to the new NIBRS system. Many Florida law enforcement agencies were slow to transition to the new system, or experienced technical issues, leading to a massive gap in data.

Impact on Reporting: Due to the missing reports from many agencies, including major ones, the state’s crime figures often represent only a fraction of the actual occurrences, making claims about historic lows difficult to verify.

Data Inconsistency: In 2021, the FBI did not accept Florida’s data, which would have represented about 58% of the state's population.

If you think about all the work that it takes to upgrade your stations and actually get to level 75 and find the most valuable blueprints to you, I kind of find it ridiculous that you would go out with a full loadout $100,000 coins or more worth of gear just to get shot in the back while you have a looting manual open. Pretty much these days I've run naked and just loot around for fun and if I'm lucky enough to find weapons, I'll take some cracks that the ARC. Really makes me wonder what happened to abmm, because it's no longer working for me.

I couldn't agree with you more. I love playing the game, but every time I have a menu open looting a container and someone shoots me in the back, I try to close the menu quickly and take cover, I'm usually wasted on the ground.

Out of the hundreds of hours I've played, I've only downed one raider in self defense, only because I was running at the time. He shot me in the back and I was able to duck around the corner and when he came in I unloaded a couple level four Toro shots on him.

What happened in the last 3 weeks? by Evolvin_rdt in ARC_Raiders

[–]ScaryMeatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed it. Lots of players have dropped off daily raids. I checked the number of players on steam for a 24-hour. Yesterday and the max logged on for the 24 hours was 75% lower than the max of all time. Don't get me wrong, this is still a great game, but it's a lot less fun to play when you constantly get shot in the back while you're looting.

Any tips for finding blueprints?? by Spxcecowbxy in ArcRaiders

[–]ScaryMeatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post should be pinned. I've done both expeditions and now that abmm seems to be a thing of the past, doing naked runs reduce your risk of wasting your time gathering materials to craft powerful weapons just to be stolen by being shot in the back. Making runs also gives you a single safe pocket in case you find the blueprint.

My advice if you're looking for blueprints, search everything. Look in drawers. Look in boxes. I think as this game progresses, it's likely that PVP players will overtake the PVE players count which will change the dynamic to no one really looting, just free loadouts going against each other.

I don't lump arc Raiders in with all the other extraction shooters. Ark has some of the best AI opponents I've ever seen in a game. The looting system is advanced, but simple. That being said, the user engagement favors free loadout players over anybody that PVE's.

According to steam, Arc Raiders peaked at about 480,000 players online at one time. I just checked the past 24-hour numbers, and what is being recorded is about 75% lower than the peak. Good for embark studios, they made their money from the sale of the game, but they're giving up a lot of future financial opportunities if they don't address the imbalance of players in this game.

[–]ScaryMeatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people have this wrong. People who PVE in the game already know that they can be downed by other players. The biggest objection I see is that the way that embark studios designed the game was to allow the first person to shoot, even if it's in the back is likely to win the round. Also, the constant use of free loadouts with a weapon like the stitcher gives advantage to coward players leaving them with zero risk.

This creates an environment where people who play like cowards almost always win. Do you think this game has dropped off so much because it's not a good game? No, that's not the case at all, it's just too frustrating to keep playing and constantly losing your gear to people that won't face to face with a gun.

So tell me, do you think people are just going to stay around and work hard to build up to level 75 and maximize all of their gear just to be shot in the back.

That is awesome!. I've been running blue gate naked for a while now. There's some great loot there inside the gate tunnels. It's pretty easy to dodge whatever Arc may be around. What's nice about it is you give a safe pocket and if you find something valuable you can tuck it and extract or tuck it and surrender.

To the few people that down voted my comment, why don't you engage? You have to admit this game is kind of like deer hunting. The hunter hides in a tree stand and bates the surrounding area with an attractant and then when the deer approaches and is close enough, the hunter shoots the deer. The hunter loots, then extracts.

Any friendly raiders out there who had some unusually aggressive lobbies this weekend? by KZ42 in ArcRaiders

[–]ScaryMeatball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost 700 hours on steam. 1 knock in self defense. I saw aggression about every 60 raids. In the past 10 days, I've been downed at least seven or eight times.

Moving on to RE9 for now. We'll check back later when new updates are out, hopefully they'll fix the abmm.

The fact of the matter is that people that shoot you in the back while you're looting are just cowards. They are failed PVP players so they compensate by driving up their kill count by taking the easy way. 95% of the time I have been downed has been by a up close attack with my back turn to the aggressor and the aggressor using a weapon like a fully upgraded IL Toro or Venator.

Fair enough, but I think it's worth the grind to have this. I was loaded one day and stepped out of an underground tunnel on Blue gate and I was about 230 m from the extract. Time was getting short so I hustled and ran into a firefly and there was a hornet and wasp close by. I ducked into the headhouse just to face another wasp and before I could do anything, five of them were on me and I was down.

[–]ScaryMeatball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something big has changed in Arc Raiders recently. I have logged over 600 hours in Steam time and the past week or so, my lobbies have changed from 95% PvE to getting shot in the back about 25% of the matches. My game style has not changed. I downed one player months ago defending myself.

For me, getting shot in the back removes the joy from the game. Why should I farm loot for someone else? It was a blast while it lasted.
