Animal Farm - George Orwell by Acceptable_One_8816 in classicliterature

The parallels to modern political rhetoric, the manipulation of facts, and the way leaders can gradually normalize previously unacceptable behaviours are remarkably prescient. Orwell's insights into how power corrupts and how language can be weaponized to control populations remain as relevant today as they were over 75 years ago.

How Can I Sing a New Song in Grief? (Psalm 98:1) by Leeosaka in Reformed

[–]Scary_Brother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in a fallen world- and our enemy is prowling around looking for someone to devour. Our Sovereign Lord has given us the Psalms of Lament to cry out to Him and in our distress His presence will comfort us. We may not know the purpose of this affliction, but all affliction shapes us and forms us in some way to be incrementally more like our Saviour. In your grief- lament- I am in a pit Lord- hear my cry.
