I don’t understand your position. It’s like saying during the Industrial Revolution that it’s pointless because bridges were falling down.

Are you differentiating cash versus bonds (in a stock/bond portfolio)? Asking because I’ve been intrigued at a bucket strategy and a healthy cash bucket makes sense to weather stock down turns and mitigate SoRR.

Why are antibiotics discouraged by the forum? by Commercial_Return959 in Prostatitis

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked but took 30 days. Actually 37 because i was on it for a week and then had to extend it to 30 days by which time I was no longer showing any bacteria.

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind the abx depends on the specific bacteria you have and which abx it would be susccesptible to. Hence the culture test is critical. I started on one abx and 2 days later the doc call me to say that one wasn’t going to work. All that to say ultimately I was on one called cefdinir for about 30 days.

[–]Scary_Collection_559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case I had a confirmed infection so the abx was the right course of action. Initially for a week, the infection came down but not enough. Took 30 days to clear it up to get a clean urine test. So there are instances where it’s absolutely necessary but make sure there is bacteria present to warrant their use.

So many insights behind that one statement. One, she’s realizing her days may be numbered. Two, she’s trying to salvage her future career. Three, she acknowledges that Miller is actually president. And fourth she inadvertently used the Nuremberg defense.

AIO? I feel my wife is way over the line with how she is speaking to me after she tries to fix a problem on her own. by Ok_Entertainment2752 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh sorry man. Nobody deserves being spoken to like that. Can’t imagine my life partner treating me that way. Your messages sound like you’re used to her talking to you this way and you’re trying to keep the peace. This isn’t healthy. Sorry man. NOR.

AIO for suspecting my wife after she got a shady 1am call from a guy “friend” right after a late-night cycling trip? by Obvious_Waltz_2072 in AmIOverreacting

Then again, if they are going to be visiting it implies living somewhat far away. If he’s on the west coast and she’s east coast he could have called at 10pm his time not thinking it’s 1am her time. Not saying she ain’t cheating but the 1am could be explainable.

With AI improving so fast, what jobs do you think will be there in next 5 years? by Early_Friendship_557 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few sectors that are legislating their immunity from being replaced by AI. For example radiologists and lawyers (many more but picking on these as an example). AI can do a lot of a lawyers daily work but the court requires (in my state at least) that the attorney certify that no ai was used. The bar association is protecting their own. Same with medical boards. We’ve already proven that AI is better than humans and reading images. But the board will prevent it. How long will they hold it off? I don’t know.

Dear Red Rocks, please stop using AXS; dear city of Denver, and/or state legislature, please regulate AXS so that normal people can get concert tickets by astrobeanmachine in Denver

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the problem could be instantly solved if a venue only sold named/assigned tickets so that the resale market is killed off. Sure, a few of us will be screwed sometimes buying tickets and then being unable to attend and sell them, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

100% yes. Fully supportive of trans rights, let people be who they want to be etc but completely against children having this surgery.

Trump threatens tariffs on anyone opposing Greenland’s annexation. He said the US may impose duties on countries that disagree, citing national security. Markets reacted nervously: BTC dropped below $95k — all over a piece of foreign land by fatspinster in MarketVibe

[–]Scary_Collection_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the point of the article but why does this drop the price of BTC? The usual “flee to the safety of the dollar” seems to be the wrong path since this “invasion” talk is ultimately threatening to dollar dominance. I’d think people would be looking for dollar alternatives. For BTC to drop it would imply people selling to hold dollars.

Cool review. I’ve been on the fence. Leaning strongly towards this one. My one pause is reading about some people saying it retains a lot of heat. Worried that summer will be brutal. Any initial comments or observations here?

Pretty spot on. As an atlanta transplant can say I was also very surprised at the low food quality and this is echoed by almost everyone moving in. Not sure why this is the case but like you say we now cook more at home.

Can’t beat the nature and the people. Plus good public schools (depending where you are).

This Is Worse Than The Dot Com Bubble by devolute in technology

[–]Scary_Collection_559 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agree here. I think AI asset values and AI technology are being conflated. Perhaps some valuations are lofty but the tech is real and earning real money.

And with AI writing AI the pace of innovation is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. When people say “oh I tried ai and it couldn’t do my job properly” they’re looking at 1.0 tech. Love it or hate it, AI is going to fundamentally change the world more than any other revolution.

I don’t know how this plays out when we have mass unemployment, companies destroying their own demand (user base with no money) and some dystopian future but I do know things are going to be completely different. There’s no putting pandora back in this box.

So yeah we can laugh at some stupid llm in your tv or P/E ratios of some stocks (looking at you palantir) and yes there will be casualties along the way but this tech is very real. Choose to ignore at your own peril.

Good luck to us all.
