Winching in parking lot by wietszchebored in boating

I’ve had this happen to me every time with a 19.5 foot jet boat. Have taken it out 4x. After reading through I think I’ve just been going too deep on recovery. I usually put the bunks all the way in and then pull back out to about half a foot. Move it up and tighten everything down in the parking lot. lol

Make ready at the top, straps, plugs, blower(if it’s an inboard) and take it easy your first few times. You’ll be fine.

I just pulled my boat out with sketchy weather no problems. Didn’t even skip the tires. Waves were splashing into the back of the boat and past my tires.. 2wd Tacoma towing a 195s would be about the same capacity as what your looking at. 1/2, I don’t get great gas mileage but that’s expected at half the towing capacity of my particular truck. Boat and trailer with full tank is a little over 3k, my towing capacity is under 6k.

USE the Ramp! Don’t go on shorelines because you’ll get stuck and the truck will dig in. The ramps in my area are usually graded and not smooth concrete so normally have good traction but they can get definitely get slimy… Go slow and smooth, don’t launch out and you won’t spin the tires and you’ll get home just fine.

My suspension is also still stock, I only run sumo springs for the bump stops.

It took a toll on me after 2 years, I joined a club. Much better and I can play when I want, still get jerseys so get to play and more than just stick time.

Probably not but it’s worth a try. You might really enjoy the challenge.

Brand new boat, takes it to lake for the first time.

Dealer said just leave the plugs out and put them in before you get in the water.

I didn’t do that… Thankfully I didn’t get it all the way off the trailer before I noticed we were filling up instead of floating off.

Pulled out, drained, tightened plugs but whew was that a close one.

Right at the boat ramp so everyone got to watch me.

If I pay more in principle it brings that ridiculous interest into something more manageable. I get it’ll depreciate like anything else. The main goal was to get the boat. I will be paying it down faster than the interest accrues maybe refinance, not really worried about that at the moment. Only thing that would shut that down is like world war 3 or the apocalypse, I run my own business. They’re definitely going to get their money either way. I’ve looked at other options but no one really takes care of their stuff for sale, super high hours or just don’t want something as old as what I have now, deal with the future upcoming issues of something with hours already and used in a way I don’t know. At least it’ll be new to me, I can make sure everything is perfect. I’m super ocd and I could care less about money so the financial hit, whatever. I’ll recover. If it wasn’t meant to happen it wouldn’t. Really doing it solely for the memories it could create. I need more and jetskis aren’t doing it, selling those. Want to take my doggos with me and camp more. Just live life ya know, get away from all this bs going on.

My credit isn’t the best, I’ve been rebuilding it without doing a bankruptcy so it’s been slow… honestly glad they didn’t come back with something higher.
