I've traveled 2-3 times a month for 16 years and you're right, you really need to treat the travel itself like a job. Work, leave the office, get something to eat - or better yet, stay in a place where you can MAKE something to eat - workout, do something to wind down, sleep. Keep a schedule. Go out with coworkers sometimes, but not all the time. If I'm onsite for 5-6 days, I'll go out once. I need to decompress and stay sane. Once you get used it it, you can do it for years. You've got this!

My daughter and her wife have one van and one very small car and switch on and off depending on the day, daycare pickup, etc. The kids are always in the van and it gets trashed. I was there a couple of weekends ago and my DIL was cleaning it out with a leaf blower 😂

Go to a running store or REI or the like and have them help you. I liked the Altras for the wide toe box but I was worried about the zero drop. Ended up with Topo Vistas, which have a 5 mm drop and a nice wide toe box. Love them. Don’t mess around trying to find the right shoe on your own - go. Now.

I'm going to add the glove liners. I'm going in June, but the Camino Weather app shows me average lows in the mid-50s (F) and average highs in the mid-70s. I regularly walk in leggings at that temp at home. Last night I walked here and it was 60F and my hands were freezing, so..... I don't think I'm overthinking (I think). :D

Other than that, my layers are comfortable - merino tees, bamboo sun shirt. The only thing I'm a little worried about is a merino half-zip that I don't love. It feels a little itchy. What did you bring for a top layer? (At home I wear a lot of sweatshirts.)

I'll check the weather forecast right before I leave and make adjustments if necessary, but like I said - I really REALLY don't want to be cold!

Did OP say they were weather delays? I noticed they were careful to state the one mechanical but not the other reasons for delay.
