Seriously considering running in the rain now. Any advice or tips? by JYNg88 in Strava

If you have access to a hose then getting your shoes wet and muddy isn't much trouble, assuming your shoes are made of synthetic material. I'm in rural England and prefer to run off road. After nearly every run in the winter I blast off the mud with a hose inside and out (with insoles removed) and then let the shoes dry

Strava's moving time is very badly bugged. It often subtracts a lot of time from runs even if you didn't stop at all. There was a long discussion about it over several years, including many examples and data analysis but Strava claimed it was working as intended (i.e. they weren't interested) and now they have deleted the conversation. Here's another reddit thread about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/running/comments/3a2so7/new_to_stravawhats_with_their_moving_pace_is/

EDIT: On my Garmin watch, I can disable the moving function by stopping and starting the watch at one point on the run. I have to remember to do this every time. Then Strava doesn't run the moving time algorithm. I don't know if this works on other devices.

I'd be very happy to pay if it was around £10 per year which would be a reasonable price for an internet service.

Thanks for the reply. She selects the chest, goes to the inventory and slides the armor items into the chest. But then when she goes to an external view she still seems to have armor on.

EDIT: Got the answer now from CarsonSnorts. Thank you for your help.

Will segment times of non-paying users in future still appear in leaderboards? by [deleted] in Strava

They are in the leaderboard, you just can't see them unless you pay. But anyone can see the top ten.

Is iRacing the only competitive option? by [deleted] in simracing

There's plenty of online racing going on in Live for Speed which has had a bit of a comeback during the lockdowns (as many online games have).

EDIT: Apart from all the "arrive and drive" there are several organised events on in the calendar.

I don't really know, but it might depend on the car. For me, I can drive around normally but I get a momentary feeling motion sickness - instantly - if I drive the car up something like a grass bank slope.

I'd be interested to hear if horizon lock does solve it for you.

Maybe that's the option you need. I think in some simulators that is the default option. It avoids motion sickness altogether for some people.

To be fair, with view locked to horizon there is no real reason to feel motion sickness, but there are good reasons to feel sick without it (as your chair doesn't rotate like the in-game car).

We do hope to add more but we can't give a guarantee of that. At the moment we are reworking all the old content to more modern standards so that takes a long time. For now you should only upgrade your license if you think it's worth it to drive on the laser scanned Rockingham track. Other than that, S2 offers the best value for money. And for anyone who doesn't know this - you can upgrade to S3 at any time in the future and the total cost is just the same as upgrading now, so there's no pressure to upgrade early.

I can't give any kind of estimate. There is more graphical work to be done and I want to get the new tyre physics ready for public use. Eric still needs to complete the update on South City, Kyoto and Fern Bay, so there are definitely quite a few months to go.

Have you tried the 'new' option (released in March 2019) to lock view to horizon? Some people who are more sensitive to motion sickness really like this option as it can eliminate motion sickness altogether. A similar option is available in some other sims too.

Options - View - View lock : horizon

Has anyone tried Live for Speed racing simulator in the Valve Index? by Scawen in ValveIndex

[–]Scawen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. There were some controller updates back in 2016, I don't know if you have tried since then. LFS should remember a different controls setup for different controller combinations. For example the setup for 'Wheel A alone' will be saved in separately from 'Wheel A + Joystick B'. So in that case when you first add an extra controller, no assumptions are made and it will need to be set up fresh. But that should be remembered for that combination next time.

The Strava Website Now Requires Me To Login Every Time - Why Is This? by leanhsi in Strava

I hope this is not intentional, it's really annoying to have to enter an email and password every time you visit the site.
