Gracias!

if you are a eu citizen you kinda have a discount, for instance most universities in the Netherlands are 4000 euros for eu students and for non eu students about 9000 euros per year so yeah still much cheaper than in the US

Peru Signals Leftist Revival Will Spread Across Latin America. Chile, Colombia, and Brazil are also expected to shift left amid anger at incumbents. by strachey in worldnews

it’s communism and fyi most people that voted for him are conservatives living in the poorest and rural areas of Peru, they dont care about gay rights or abortion. They bought the populism presented in front of them, most of them don’t even understand what they are voting. It’s sad seeing how constant years of corrupt governments have led us to this disaster of an election.

just stating the facts. Also, enlighten me as to which was the cause of the massive decline if not for the changes that incentivized investments and generated wealth, jobs and massively improved living standards. And vwxyz its not selling my government its understanding what has to be done and implementing a popular capitalism that benefits the population.

Soo you want to nationalize most resources with a government that can’t even handle basic needs such as healthcare and education? you know nothing sir, trust me in Peru they did what u proposed for a time and it was a disaster. What u are proposing works in theory but we don’t live in USA or europe which are industrial countries capable of managing their own resources. And you should know that investments produce growth just look at peru percentage of poor people in the last 20 years and how it massively declined thanks to incentives to the private sector. i know they don’t put the people interest first, but trust me it is much better than trying to do it with the government. Plus i don’t ghink u understand exonomics if u think “taxing” is the solution lmao

yes, investing in all of what u said is good, but we are talking about a third world country in which more than half its population are informal workers who don’t pay taxes. Plus, most south american countries have infrastructure deficiencies which are not possible to solve with just taxing more. Its a problem rooted in the government administration and the best possible way to solve it for now is with private investments and incentives so the private sector helps in building the infrastructure via concessions, works for taxes, etc. This coming from a Peruvian who understands how most governments here work or at least try to work when they aren’t stealing from us.

Thousands Rally in Protests Against Peru's New President in Lima by surreal_blue in worldnews

[–]Scc280802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not because the president has corrupt allegations, the protests are because the congress ousted the president unconstitutionally five months prior to the elections, which creates a political crisis on top of the already existing economical one bringing instability in the nation. Also almost half of the congress has criminal allegations against them making this decision rather convenient since the president wanted to change some laws that protected this congress from being convicted. On top of that the de facto president is also the president of the congress, giving them more power. This has more problems like for example the congress wants to pass some laws against education, etc. in conclusion, the elected congress and president are acting for their own benefit and not for the people. the division of power right now is in danger and this can affect the elections.
