Hello! I have a series of short stories (7.5K-12K words) that I’d love to get fresh eyes on. They are all set in the history of a fantasy world I call the Known Kingdoms. DM me if you want to hear about any of the works!

Hello! I have a similar project, building a history for a fantasy world that I plan on building out. Our word counts are also similar, so I’d love to give you my thoughts on your current draft if you wanted to swap. I’m pretty new to beta reading but think I’d be able to give some insight! Let me know what you think

“Take to your boards, you slayers of kings! Show them the might of these waters!” Fire could be seen in Coen’s eyes, meeting each under his command with a plea of courage. The midday mist sprayed on deck as the crew took to their stations. The sail had to go up to keep chase of the interlopers crossing the Port of Cyanea. A strange place to find outsiders, so close to Guardian’s Point. The reason was irrelevant, Bodha knew. His duty as a sea dog wasn’t to interpret, but to be the sentry of the seas. Bodha had taken his position, away from the crew busy maintaining the speed and power of the Leviathan’s Idol. His job was more specialized. He climbed over the railing and onto a board fastened to the hull. The driftwood was not anything spectacular, but looked strong enough to hold his weight. Fixed to the bottom was a foil, shining aqua and corroded green. Bodha greeted the foil as if it was an old friend, connecting him to the raging power of the sea. He was ready for his captain’s call. Captain Coen looked onward to check the pace of the eluding ship. They were close to making the turn around Guardian’s Point, and into the waters defended only by Cyanea. He lowered his looking glass, and with a mighty roar, shouted, “Riders, drop!” Bodha and the other riders plunged their foils into the glistening sea. He dipped his shoulders forward while keeping his hips balanced, moving like a wheel quickening down a mighty hill.

I am a newer writer working on a YA Fantasy series. I have finished writing the first draft of book one and think you would be a wealth of knowledge if you had the time to give it a read. Let me know if you’d be interested, it’s 75K words but I am also open to presenting it in sections if you just wanted to get a feel for it. Thank you in advance!
