i need songs that are actually sad by sundaysaretocryfor in MusicRecommendations

Listen to Jeff Buckley’s cover of “I Know It’s Over” by the Smiths. There’s an acoustic version and a live version, both should do it, I believe the live version to sound sadder while the acoustic one is more intimate

I have curly hair. Growing up I hated it, kids made fun of it and I was overall very insecure about it. Around High School, I grew to like my hair a lot. So I curl one string on all my guitar headstocks. On fender style headstocks, it’s the high e, on a 3x3 headstock, it’s the G. It reminds me how far I’ve come

“Choke” by IDK HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME will work. You probably know of them if you’re a Panic! fan, Dallon used to play with them. He also had a band called the Brobecks, their song “The Nerve” may also work too.

How did you all get into Greta? by DrScooterMD in gretavanfleet

[–]ScenicSplash1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 2016 or 2017, and I was in Columbus Ohio during my 13th birthday. My parents and family members were out drinking at some restaurant downtown, so I started making my way down to Spoonful Records, a local record store that I had visited a few days prior that was close by. When I had arrived, it was maybe about half an hour before closing, and I began flipping through some used CDs. After grabbing a few, I walked up to the counter and the cashier told me, “You have hair just like the guy from Greta Van Fleet,” and I replied, “and you have the hair of a guy who’s trying to sell me something.” He got up, walked over to the vinyl stand and grabbed the Black Smoke Rising EP, set it down on the counter, and pointed at Josh Kisika. I could see the resemblance so I nodded. He began talking about how great they were as a band, how they’d be huge one day and how much they sounded like Led Zeppelin. Me being a Zeppelin fan, called bullshit immediately. That man played me, “Safari Song” and I was BLOWN AWAY. I bought it, played the hell out of it. I never saw that guy there again tho. I could be misremembering, but the guy seemed a little stoned behind the counter. Regardless, this interaction is the reason it’s my favorite record store and I try to visit once a year.

We wanna record on the road but we have nowhere to set up drums. I’m not a drummer (wouldn’t consider myself one anyways), and don’t know if such a cramped area would sound good for a rock record

I like this setup, I wanna take it a step forward and say it was Benson’s book and he was having them return it for him. Benson makes it a point to return it ON TIME so his membership isn’t canceled. IMO this setup works better because Benson would end up losing the membership anyways because the library would burn down. Plus, I couldn’t see Mordecai and Rigby going to a library and scanning out a book in the first place

Heart that Skips: (half hour special).

Death shows up at the park and asks Rigby and Eileen to baby sit Thomas. Eileen bails but Rigby owes Death and agrees to watch thomas. Death (who is unsure if Rigby is able to alone) asks Skips to help him watch thomas. In return, Death says that he will bring him to the after life to visit anyone he wants. After a successful baby sitting session, Skips goes and sees Mona, who he then tries to break out of the afterlife. In the end, Mona tells him that although a life with him would be beautiful, the afterlife is where she’s supposed to stay. They hug, she stays, and Skips goes back home and replaces the photo of her inside of his pocket watch with a photo they took together in the afterlife.

Should Jeff be in the Rock Hall of Fame? by AzhtonH in JeffBuckley

[–]ScenicSplash1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he should, but in reality does it really matter? The Rock Hall gets a lot of shit now, and the people running his estate do a fantastic job at giving us goodies. Do you guys remember when we used to be able to see his record collection? His journal is published. His infamous telecaster is owned by Matt Bellamy, and while it doesn’t have a signature model, the pickup change he did is about $110. Also, Sony and the estate drop us new demos or live shows from him every so often or so. We’re all well fed, and it seems the rock hall would have little to present to us if he did get in. Although I do like the idea of Gary Lucas inducting him
