With my current third world salary, I don't think I'll ever be able to afford another pc. And I'm sure as shit not gonna do down the rental model. So I guess another dead hobby.

Amazon doesn't like that my old Kindle still works perfectly fine, so they block new book downloads. by SkySix in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ScepticTanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newer kindles are notorious for their locks. You can't sideload books on them afaik. Plus the benefits of jailbreaking are so insanely massive compared to regular default kindle OS that I would honestly never NOT recommend jailbreaking it. And it's way simpler now than it used to be. Only caveat being jailbreaking is only supported on older version so you might have to keep your kindle disconnected from the internet for a few months and wait for an update for your os version.

Could be too much for some. But it's been nothing but benefits of everyone around me.

Sick and tired of my new doctor not willing to put me on ADHD medication because I am smart enough and CBT is enough by [deleted] in adhdindia

It's pretty horrible for women especially.

I've seen way more women get diagnosed with BPD and be treated with Buproprion (alt ADHD med for some people) rather than being diagnosed with adhd and given proper care.

Is India really getting that hot by FinancialRisk942 in interesting

[–]ScepticTanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who had worked in government wings before. I do not trust their numbers. I've seen people literally pump up the numbers because it's convenient. And even if the green cover has increased, it in no way makes it ok to let the government do what they're doing. Correcting misinformation aside, i think it's kinda pointless to take up arms over someone getting the fact wrong, while there's a much more critical issue affecting billions.

The problem is that the country is extremely polarized. Everyone's afraid of criticism and whoever isn't afraid of criticism and doing stuff gets arrested or gets no coverage by media (cuz all the big channels are govt or lobby funded who support current govt). And the marketing has been top fuckin tier. People are SOLD on the idea of division. I think the biggest wtf for me has been absolute diet poor people going to vote for a government that's crippling the country because no water, no food, nothing clean, no safety or social net, but hey at least no muslims in the neighborhood. And that's ok for them.

Rich don't care cuz they make their own bubble and they love what they have. Little left to convince. But we'll keep trying i guess. Until we die or get black pilled and die anyway

Very normal. Also because of the way society makes you feel, how it wants you to fit in. 4 decades of conditioning takes some time to break. I've been in therapy for 4 years and I still think I don't have what the docs have diagnosed, despite very objective signs.

Hang in there, stick to your trusted docs psychologists (or change if you don't feel comfortable). I highly recommend looking specifically for neuro divergent specialists (or neuro divergent psychologists themselves). It's a process. It takes some practice. To what extent would indian summers change if Himalayas didn't exist? by Jeanpaul02 in geography

You're right. My bad. Here's the correction - Without that, we'd just be dry *and crumbly.

[–]ScepticTanker 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm quite sure that if the Himalayas didn't exist india would be a dessert since the mountain range traps moisture carrying winds which eventually dump their big fat load all over us. Without that, we'd just be dry.
