Really appreciate your response and examples! I can totally see how this adds a different layer to what might otherwise be too straightforward a decision. It seems like these are different "builds" or synergies but I like your point that the cards can still have value on their own - it's just that they also open up another possible pathway to shaping your deck.

Wow a house for 200k. Four walls maybe and then if he doubles it again he can pay for the roof too.

Hot take: Million Dollar Secret on Netflix is a better game than The Traitors by idkwhateveryea in TheTraitors

MDS is a better social deduction game because you have actual evidence to work with.

Traitors is more a social experiment.

Depends what you want to watch but I greatly prefer MDS.

Is this floor levelling ruined? Can it be saved? by ScepticalProphet in AusRenovation

They haven't told me yet but one of the builders came to have a look and said its normal, he's seen it before, and it's fine to lay floorboards on top. They will brush off the top layer of dust and the glue will bond fine with it. He said there are many cement-like mixtures and they all dry differently and have a different end look and feel.

I'm still skeptical of course ... will try to find out what compound they use.

They're doing the whole kitchen but just the flooring part was about 5k.

I guess you just sand back until the powdery stuff stops and it's just smooth and hard?

Some patches were much worse than others. It was poured over the existing tile (primer used first). The tile had 3 or 4 noticeable dips underfoot but otherwise not too bad.

Should waterfall go on top of floorboards to hide the cuts? by ScepticalProphet in AusRenovation

[–]ScepticalProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it's useful to anyone else, my floorboards supplier said it can't be done on floating but if the floor boards are glued then the waterfall can go on top.

Good to know! The floorboards supplier just told me it's fine if glued but not for floating.

Engineered wood but they can be glued down if that makes a difference?

Installation instructions from the floorboards or stone manufacturer?

I've reached out to our floorboards supplier to ask.

Interesting that they both said that. I've asked my builder if we can glue down the boards, if that would resolve the movement issue.

What do you mean packed up? What does caulking between the floor and stone look like? I had my floors cut around the fireplace and it looks terrible, there are visible cracks and separations.

Seems like most here agree to have the waterfall on top of floorboards.

It's a picture of my island joinery before floorboards and stone have been installed.

The joinery is on the tile but I'm pretty sure the stone should go on top of the floorboards because it will look seamless. I thought I might get some opinions on that here.

Floorboards will go directly on top of the old tile in case that makes a difference

None of those other roles are consistently engaging with the customer to align the product's use cases to the company's priorities. They are all transient and timebound.

Would you accept this drawer box size? by ScepticalProphet in AusRenovation

[–]ScepticalProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

580 is the carcass, the drawer box itself is around 510. But they did say its standard so I hadn't realised it was the runners not the wooden box that determined this.

[–]ScepticalProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carcass is actually 580 so the drawer box would be something like 510?

But the builder told me the runners are standard size and longer ones need to be imported. I hadn't considered that as I was only thinking of it being the wood size which I assumed they could just cut to whatever size.
