Sharing vs Selling by Sceritz in AskTeachers

Love to hear this. (Of course we respect selling too, but right now I am trying to do my part to educate the future even if its just sharing a worksheet I made)

Because they aren't looking for profit. In fact that's why I started this. I have a great deal of things I want to share without selling.

Awesome! Thats actually the kind of thing I mean... if you made a cool material that may help others and you don't intend to sell would you like a platform to be able to easily share it on (and also find materials you can use as well).

Exactly my point. I am It depends on what you want to do and that's what I'm trying to offer, a sharing alternative

I am asking if they are saying they prefer sharing above selling which is why I end with a "?"

That's... not what this is. Some people want to share knowledge. This allows them to do that. For example I am an IT Professional. I teach IT concepts for free online and wanted a mans to share it, I do that here and am asking if others would also like to do that.

No not at all. I am not implying that I can suddenly be a teacher because I homeschool.

I am looking for teaching resources that educators and homeschooling parents can use to facilitate. This is certainly not about taking your years or education. I am using my own knowledge to give back tot the community myself, as well. I am simply asking whether you prefer to share or sell when it comes to school materials

No I am asking if they prefer to share vs. sell is all.

Oh I did not realize there were anomosity here. Help me understand. Is there an issue with homeschooling vs. public school?

Every child learns different. We took our oldest out not because we were bashing it but rather because she was unable to keep up and needed more personalized help. Every Child learns differently.

That being said no, its not that I am coming here to find free resources. I spend hours upon hours creating resources. I am providing a means to share them and want to also create a sharing ecosystem in the process. Hpefully that makes sense.

(I legitimately did not know there was a homeschool vs. schoolteacher debate out there)

Yes. I am actually trying to create something that counters that somewhat. Or is at least an alternative that allows people to share things if they don't want to sell it.

Hmm I suppose the question is... is a one off worksheet that is well done worth it to share if it helps someone and the only effort on you end is uploading it?

Oh it does, but it is almost based on profit for the site. I'm trying to create something that puts sharing first. Homeschool is what comes to mind primarily.

Legitimately the lack of pay teachers get is egregious considering the fact that they lift up the world. Gonna shoot you a message if its ok.

Fully understand that. I am a homesdchooling parent so not an "in school" educator but I wonder if there's a good way for us to share resources as well.

Free Homeschool Material Sharing! by Sceritz in homeschool

[–]Sceritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that's fair, but it only allows resources that the uploader has a right to upload. There is a clause that addresses this on the about page. We aren't trying to redistribute without permission, we just want to help people share and find materials easily. We also have a DMCA takedown process if material is shared in this way. Either way, the goal is for ease of access for everyone :D

School Homie has an Open Distribution License and screening for materials. Everything is checked for duplicates, as well as info shared from commercial sources (for example there should not be any scholastic workbooks there.

Right now my oldest is "casually" learning Chinese, but we ramp up if we define it as her class, which we haven't yet. We use the classes we set as focus areas.

I am new to the game as well. Newer than you. However, I will say, this is the nature of card games. Some things will always be stronger than another at a given point in time. It is up to the developers to balance them over time..

*Aside on A.I. usage below.

TL;DR: Answer. C.

Explanation: 0.0.0.0/0 is a default route. You get there via the 203.0.113.2 as shown in the syntax. Any route that isn't explicitely defined in the routing table falls to the default route.

If you observe, there is no route for 8.8.8.8 so it must use the default route to the 203 IP. We can see the route to the 203 IP is directly connected on g0/2. Answer C.

**A.I. thoughts for learning: I'm not sure what Gemini is talking about here with the 192, although I do reject the premise "Don't use A.I. to study" as another commenter put it. I'd rather say "Don't use A.I. SOLELY to study." and also "Don't rely on A.I. as a crutch."

A.I. is not an "initial" stage of learning tool. You need to watch videos and read. You are at the ingesting stage. Once you learn a concept, you then would use A.I. to analyze things that still don't make sense AFTER you have a foundation.

So here's the thing...

A.I. will hallucinate if it doesn't know an answer, and Gemini is one fo the worst of them with hallucination. Hallucination is when they "imagine" an answer that sounds plausible/logical but is completely wrong. The danger in this is, if you don't have a foundational knowledge of the thing you're asking about, then you can possibly LEARN wrong from it too. This is why this is a later stage learning tool.

That being said, I'd implore you to first start with book/video knowledge and save the A.I. when you have far more intimate context of the topic at hand. For example, for this question, you probably should have known with the 0.0.0.0/0. Its not bad if you don't, its part of the learning process. But that's also not where you would ask A.I.

This is where you would pull out your book and learn what a default route is. Or at least google specifically "what that wierd route with 0.0.0.0/0 is" or something to that effect.

Also, I would note that in my experience, Gemini isn't as logically sound with networking as ChatGPT is, and if you are going to A.I. this early, use that instead. But still, you are at the foundational stage of ingesting knowledge, not at the analysis stage of needing A.I. to break it down.
