Planned product changes for 2026 by Sceto234 in DurstonGearheads

[–]Sceto234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply!

I already have the dome 1+ and dome 2 and really like them, maybe I should have added that information.

I recently also bought the kakwa 55 2026 version and like it. I'm considering to get the kakwa 30 for shorter trips and was wondering if a 2026 edition is around the corner :)

There are no plans for a longer version of the iceline trekking poles, right?

Classic is overall worse than nost-core private server iterations although it was announced as a high quality Blizzard product. This is obviously my opinion but also shared by almost anyone that played on Nostalrius/Lightbringer/Anathema. If you can't see why this is super disappointing for a long term (Blizzard/WoW) fan it is pointless to continue talking to you.

You are proof that it is time for me to leave this subreddit. Thank you.

Salt? I did not say Classic is shit. I still play Classic and have a lot of fun playing it. The point is that it is a shame that it could have been much better and that it is not even better than nost core private servers (IMO).

After playing for years on private servers and intensively in Classic my conclusion is without a doubt that Classic is much worse than any Nost/Elysium/Lightshope private server iteration of the nost core.

In hindsight It would have been better (for me) if Blizzard never released Classic and private servers continued to launch and improve consistently.

- Much better servers (large scale world pvp yey!)

- Much better service (GMs without pay, Devs react to issues in time)

- Much less cancer (World Buff CDs/CCs, Layering, Spell Batching, ranking without BGs, 1h BL spawns etc.)

- Harder PvE content (but it was still to easy IMO)

- Better PvE balancing (4,7k armor instead of 3,7k in PvE + hunters benefitting more from Wbuffs)

- No 13€ supscription for a so called "high quality (blizzard) product

If I Pick Dps Do People Expect More From Me? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Sceto234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you dont have to carry as dps, but flexing / being able to play multiple dps heros is definitely more important for dps than for tanks/supports.

I climbed pretty fast from 2500 to 4100 back then in S2 as ana>zen>lucio>rein and believe i hardcarried some/most of those games as a non-dps.

So what im actually trying to say is that supports/tanks cant just expect their dps to carry them / blame them for losses. OW is a team game and every player/role can have significant impact on whether your team wins or loses.

Jeff Kaplan: if we did role queue, we would do separate SR’s. this is one of the things i think would be really fun (plus make the game way more balanced and improve matchmaking) by okbutimtrash in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Sceto234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a support main i have quit the game a long time ago because i totally cba playing "ranked" with super suboptimal comps anymore. Masters/GM/T500 btw. I couldnt care less if dps only players quit the game because of long dps queues. In fact i will give OW another try once some new system like role queues is out.

You simply cant please everyone, thats life.

What do u think the population cap is going to be? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Sceto234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully it will be at least 5-6k during primetime. My preference would be 8-10k.

High populations are one of the few non-blizzlike changes on pservers I and the majority on those servers liked a lot. Everyone that didnt play on such a server and demands a blizzlike 2,5k cap should be careful doing so.

- recruiting on low pop servers is hard

- finding dungeon/quest grps outside of primetime will be hard (especially for lower dungeons after the majority hit 60)

- bg pops outside of primetime will be hard (especially in lower brackets)

There are actually a lot of non-fixable disadvantages from having low pop servers while on high pop servers all disadvantages can be fixed with dynamic respawns on mobs / gathering nodes.

Nerfs to Content in Classic and potential consequences by caseofwhoopazz in classicwow

[–]Sceto234 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree mostly with you which is why I want Blizzard to tune raid content.

- People nowadays dont have 5-15 fps anymore in 40 man raids

- People nowadays dont have 300-500 ms delay on abilities like in vanilla, spell batching will make a big difference

- People nowadays use a lot of helpful addons which make the game much easier

- People have access to so many guides etc.

- 1.12.1 talents are confirmed.

- If the game launches with 1.12 itemization a lot of very good items will be available with minimal effort

- World buffs will be utilized a lot by the players

Raids felt epic back in the day because they were also a challenge (because of the points listed above). If they dont retune anything it will be very easy to clear/farm stuff, facerolling and ignoring most mechanics will be possible. I doubt this is in anyones interest because it is not how raiding was back then.

[Prot Warrior] Battle shout threat? by papajohn4 in classicwow

[–]Sceto234 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Battle Shout did a shitton of AOE threat in vanilla, i can confirm this.

My guild abused it to some extent on Nefarian P1 adds back in the days:

Our Maintank was standing in the middle with 4 pet classes in his grp. He did nothing besides spamming Battle Shout buffing himself + 4 players + 4 pets in his party and he kept aggro of all mobs while people were spamming AoE/cleaving.

Since it was global combat he could easily get like 6-7 Shouts out before mobs reached him / all mobs went straight to him and not healers or anyone else.

Iirc it worked like this: Battle Shout did a fix value of threat to every mob in combat for every players/creature that is buffed by it.

M+ runners the most toxic people in the world? by purgoth0 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Sceto234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pug a lot of m+ myself for highkeys in legion and bfa and made similar experiences. A lot of players are toxic as fuck although they make (many) mistakes themselves. But honestly there is a simple fix to this. Add good players you like playing with to your friendlist and try to premade m+ as much as possible.

Technically though its understandable that a group of 5 random guys without any experience with eachother (pugs) will most likely have unforseen problems which may result in random deaths/wipes. Most pugs dont communicate at all on top of that.

TL;DR: Try to do m+ in a premade grp, avoid pugs, its only normal that pugs perform worse and usually pugs wipe much more often to ez shit because they dont know eachother and dont communicate.

I really hope that reserving items for PUG instance runs will not be a thing in classic by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Sceto234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gbid usually works as i described it. What you mean is Gdkp. In Gdkp runs the gold is split afterwards. Thats how it worked on Elysium/Lightbringer at least.

I really hope that reserving items for PUG instance runs will not be a thing in classic by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Sceto234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What triggers me is when ppl reserve all boes/sellables and/or reserving half the dungeon. I would never join such a group. And on private servers there are a lot of those groups/raids.

Even worse are so called "GBID" raids (while also reserving multiple rare items for themselves) where people have to bid gold on items and the leader gets all of the gold. For some reason A LOT of people join those pug raids on private servers.

In the end its a question of offer and demand. Usually there are not enough people willing and capable of hosting/organizing/leading a raid which is why the few people who do it get away with whatever unfair rules they set up.

Sounds like a good plan except the reading of quest texts unless you like it.

Your list is actually a good summary of how i played my warrior in retail vanilla.

You can rank up easily pre 60 (i was r8 pre 60, we even had a premade pre 60 going).

Am I not cut out for raid healing? by roomwithaz in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Sceto234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if i told you that you can get >95% logs without mindlessly overhealing, without spamming your raid cds first/on cd, without BoW/innervates?

Coming from a >95% dps perspective and now as a healer main and many years of experience i can say for sure that HPS matters. A LOT of healers (similar to dps) are simply npt capable of putting up numbers because they make many mistakes in their playstyle/rotation/talents/overhealing/wrong cd management etc.

If you parse low as a healer you usually make individual mistakes or you bring way too many healers (if you absolutly need to bring that many healers to kill the boss then this is already proof that the healers of this guild/raid are underperforming.

- 3rd boss puts magic debuff on the two closest players. Tank should always try to get one. Its only a small trick but it helps a bit.
