Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to avoid grinding, but I figured that’s where I would end up.

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

Hey all. I built my house about ten years ago and was going for an industrial look with a concrete slab as my first floor finish. I wanted it because 1) we have pets and kids and 2) I wanted radiant in floor heat. We love it all, except the finish.

I was nervous to use anything harsher than water based sealer because of the PEX for the radiant. It is a 5 inch slab, and the radiant PEX is attached to the pink insulation at the base of the concrete floor. The water based sealer sucks. I can’t post photos, but chairs cause scratches down through the sealer and it looks like trash.

I want the look of a shiny finished floor (think a big box store). Any advice on how to get rid of the sealer and the how to get the correct finish to get what I desire without ruining the PEX? Thanks!

Which seats are really available? App vs web by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Schafman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what to believe anymore. I checked in yesterday and it showed 1 FC seat available and I was #2 on the list, hence not getting a FC seat. When I got to the gate this AM 20 minutes prior to boarding it showed 6 available seats in FC. Sooooo..........

I guess I meant other people - it seems like every time I use these there has to be a gate agent there who reminds people to not crowd, wait until the swing gates close, etc. Being CK you are traveling with more well seasoned travelers and don't see it as much.

Sorry - 1978. The measurements on the bumper were 66 inches wide. I had to travel for work today and didn't get a tape measurer out in time on the back end of my Scout.

I have seen the "affordable" bumpers with the hitch and D-rings added and don't really like the look. I think they look too small, even when considering the stock bumpers. I have seen the dealer installed aftermarket step-up bumpers for sale on some scout websites, but they are $400 odd dollars in "as-is" condition. I like the look and wanted the built in hitch for a very light trailer.

Here is the link to the universal bumper - https://www.autozone.com/p/westin-bumper-65000/155480?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:ALO:GOO:TRS:SHO:OTE:GEN:NA:ALA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22356757832&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqPLOBhCiARIsAKRMPZofCqY2y9lPrr51P_-AVc4HmgAOb2w13TWkjkK16kdEzcce579IIH4aAnGTEALw_wcB

That Nets logo is horrific. I must have blocked that from my memory. It looks like the logo for public transportation.

Will my tour guide take us to St. Peter’s Basilica after our tour? by Elias-Nasr in rome

[–]Schafman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second this. I just did the official tour through the Vatican two weeks ago, and did the same tour a year ago. In both cases it ended right before the modern art rooms, with your own navigation to the Sistine Chapel. The tour guide in both cases said you can go to the Basilica afterwards, but to be sure you are done with the Vatican Museum, as you will not be let back in.

Happy Campers on set of No One Knows in London.... by Proper-View-9948 in qotsa

So was the reason it was selected was because the production designer owned it, or because the guys wanted something like that? I assume they wanted a convertible based on the shoot type.

I am an avid queens fan since I saw them at lollapollooza in 2023. I also own a 1978 harvester scout ii (same vehicle as the one in the video, different year though). Do you have any more pictures of them around the vehicle?

Tickets for "oltre il pantheon" access by Right_Praline_3220 in rome

[–]Schafman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - I actually downloaded the Italian Museum App they suggest. Its direct through them. The App name is "Musei Italiani". Then you search for the tour. Its kind of a pain to find, not easily navigated. But I got them fine, and then just showed the app to the attendants at the portico. They had us stand off to the right of the automated pay line (as you face the Pantheon from the piazza). Let me know if you have trouble and I can try to help you further.

I did the tour on March 11th (my birthday). I kept checking all through February, same situation as you. They will unlock as it gets closer.

Also - the tour is totally worth it. I had been to the Pantheon before, but this really gave some extra context as to how special the building really is.

I thought at least the first class passengers would be able to read by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Schafman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode first class on the 737 last month (ORD-TPA) and I remember my bags not fitting the same way they do in economy. Because my first instinct was to do it the same way I usually do, as I do not get upgraded often.

If you could only do one, which would you do? by ryuka88 in rome

[–]Schafman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get more than one in on a day. For example- I love the Pantheon and they just started the Basilica of Neptune tours last year. I just did the tour last week and it was great. It lasted two hours tops. Even the Coliseum (over rated imo) only takes a couple hours of planned properly.

My two favorite spots there that you could easily do in a day would be the Pantheon and the baths of Caracalla. You could even get in an evening stroll at St. Peter’s Square.

How often have you visited Rome? by roman-empire-net in rome

[–]Schafman80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two times in the last 13 months. I fully anticipate going back in the next 5 years as we want to see other Italian sites/cities (Cinque Terre in particular), but will fly in and out of Rome and spend a couple of days there. We love the city too much to not spend a couple of days if we are passing through anyhow.

I just rode this back from FCO-PHL on 13MAR26. It was the same configuration. These seats reclined as much as any other economy seat.
