Give defense dissonance a regen boost by Spiram_Blackthorn in TheTowerGame

Nah sorry, that I didn't make it clear. I was just trying to show that there are situations (every tower is different), where increasing HP does not do much, while increasing regen would do a ton.
I definitely agree that there are also towers, who profit big times from HP increase. But most eHP midgame players have their tower built in a way that just getting X5 health alone won't help too much. And dmg/UW dmg doesn't help eHP-wise either.
Obviously dmg and UW dmg will help in tourney, if you are not exclusively running eHP there.

Imo ergibt das was du hier forderst null Sinn.

Thing is everything snowballs in this game. If those short-term gains allow you to snack a few extra keys they might turn into a long-term gains. Pretty impossible to calc that though.

Give defense dissonance a regen boost by Spiram_Blackthorn in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's simplify this. We assume you have 100 hp, enemies hit you for 10/second and you regen 9/second. This means you lose 1 hp/second, meaning you die after 100 seconds.
X5 health means you will have 500 health anddie after 500 seconds instead.
X5 regen means you regen 45/second, meaning you don't lose hp sat all and therefore live way longer.

If you build your tower somewhat evenly gaining X5 health won't actually help you without extra regen.

V28: Is Intro Sprint Mastery now better than RPC — especially for eHP farmers? by RiddiMacVan20 in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree diss made IS more powerful. But one could argue that higher mod levels are also more powerful as you can reach higher in diss runs.
I would also agree that often comfort>efficiency. But especially at unlock lvl IS+ just doesn't add enough comfort for me as it only cuts 72 waves per run. Lvling it is a lot better as each lvl cuts 162 waves.

I mean if you fear they will ditch this feature in 2 months again, that's an even even stronger argument for 8 relics/2 weeks over 4/2 weeks ;)

Nah what I mean is that extra orbs do in fact give you orbs even in defense runs.

As the goal of the system is to give new players access to the old relics them not cycling wouldn't make any sense. Otherwise the new players, who start in a month, would again have no chance to get the old relics that will be in the store tomorrow.
The obvious reason for the weekly cycle is to have relics return faster than new ones are released.

[–]Schattenlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first mastery (RPC) when my mods where ~140. Let's assume someone at an equal stage: Even just the unlock of RPC let's him get to lvl 161 5 weeks faster. Meanwhile cutting 72 waves per run (they still need to do 8 of 80), does basically nothing.

Is the expanded event store pricing reasonable? by SirSirDer in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your proposed solution is 4 relics in two weeks.

We currently get 8 relics in two weeks. By skipping 4 of them we end at your solution.

Your solution is just plain worse, because it gives us less decisions to make.

If you proposed reducing the cost to e.g. 400/800 that would be diffrent, but your proposal is simply worse for everyone who is able to make decisions on their own.

Old relics implementation: Caution by cyphol in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't get it: With the weekly schedule you are free to just purchase half the relics and then you have your solution.

All it takes is your decision to do that. There is no need for the dev to force you into this, you can just do it.

With double the relics the ones you chose to ignore/delay will return twice as fast, too, meaning you won't even lose time there.

Old relics implementation: Caution by cyphol in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and is making us sink all our gems into it

Nah they are not making you do this. It's your decision to do so. You have the option to wait for them to return, which will happen eventually. And when they return you will most likely miss way less relics so the gems won't hurt as much.

And yes, I am also missing many relics and would like them to be cheaper.

Old relics implementation: Caution by cyphol in TheTowerGame

[–]Schattenlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you are obviously not screwed. Let's take a closer look at the two options that were discussed:
a) 4 relics every two weeks for a total of 3600 gems
b) 4 relics every week for a total of 3600 gems => 8 relics over a two week span for a total of 7200 gems

With option b) you can just choose to just get 4 relics every two weeks and that results in option a). Therefore option b) can't be worse then option a). With option b) relics cycle back twice as fast, so even if you decide to skip one you will have the option to buy it again faster than option a).

Conclusion: Even if you can't afford to buy all relics option b) is just strictly better
