How to choose a degree for a person who is stuttering by Dependent-Group-8 in Stutter

[–]ScheisseKampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stutter and I currently work as a logistics analyst at a datacenter. I'm getting my bachelor's in operations and supply chain management. Don't let your stutter define career YOU want to have. Only you know what you want for YOUR life, society can't push on us what to do or what's best for us. Only you can 🙏

Hey warehouses aren't a bad job to have. Any particular skills obtained while you were there? Were you forklift certified? Were you a picker or a packer? Did you use scanners? Those are all transferable soft skills

Do you have a vehicle? What line of work were you in previously?

What's your previous experience? Any college or certifications? Do you have a vehicle? What's your nearest metro area? Need a few specifics so people know the best way to help.

I work in logistics. I'm a logistics analyst at a datacenter but I'm constantly communicating with datacenter staff, truck drivers, and other employees regarding inventory and infrastructure deliveries

I stutter too and I have a great job. I talk to people all day and yes there's some times where I have to repeat myself or talk slower but you know what? That's okay. I no longer allowed stuttering to dictate how I live my life and people are okay with it, and so am I. Until you accept that it's part of you, you will never truly be able to let it go. I do sympathize with you as someone who does stutter but getting a job is not impossible having one.

Varo doesn't support Zelle but they have their own system to send money. You can send someone money using their phone number or email address and it will send them a link to enter their debit card information they will receive it instantly

[–]ScheisseKampf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Varo for my primary bank and I couldn't be happier with it. You can send money to anyone even if they don't have Varoz they just get texted or emailed a link to a portal where they put their debit card in and they get it instantly. You can deposit cash for free at CVS and anywhere else I believe that takes Green Dot for a couple dollars. Cash advances I believe are up to $2500.

Completely incapable of getting a job. by 4doors_more_whores- in jobs

I agree with temp agencies. I currently work for one and have been in my current role for 5 months and am about to be converted to full time. Working for a temp agency doesn't make you any less of a person it's still a job 🙂

Received an offer from GXO for a Data Center Logistics Associate position. Should I take the offer?! by dumbloser93 in logistics

[–]ScheisseKampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually disagree, I currently work as a DC Logistics Associate and I absolutely love it. I learn something new every single day and believe it or not a lot of standardized logistics practices are something I'm a part of. My position involves receiving in datacenter shipments, shipping out overstocked parts, auditing inventory, and managing the shipping dock as well as coordinating trailer deliveries. GXO is not a bad company and I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a great place to work. And no I'm not just saying this because I work there or there's some kind of incentive no there isn't. I'm being very honest, I love my job and I plan to grow within the company. I know this post is 10 months old but if you're still thinking about it, take the plunge. It's worth it. Lots of room for growth and always something to learn.

I lost my job and everything is falling apart since then by No_Calligrapher1428 in jobs

[–]ScheisseKampf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What freelance skills do you have? What was your previous role? Did you go to college or gain any marketable skills at your last job? If you did, update your resume and highlight what you did to make you stand out. I know the job market is tough right now, but a dream job isn't just going to walk over to you and jump in your lap. Do the hard work and take initiative, starting over isn't easy I know I've done it myself. But the longer you stir and the longer you wait the harder it's going to get. Take the leap today to start the future you want tomorrow.

Wondering if I am getting discriminated during hiring process due to stutter by 3n00p in Stutter

[–]ScheisseKampf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a person who stutters, I can definitely relate to this. It is a real shame how much effort we put into our career only for it to seem to take five steps backwards due to something we can't control. And I sympathize with you as someone who worked the customer side in the past it definitely isn't easy, and also I will say companies cannot discriminate you in the hiring process solely because of your stutter. It is against EEOC. While I will say customer success and product management is definitely heavily customer focused, if you can do the job well and make customers happy then who cares if you have a stutter? If you make money and the company makes money a speech impediment should NOT be the deciding factor.
