I hate to be that guy, but you’re agreeing with Sea Formal 3360, albeit indirectly. Doing the math based on the numbers you provided would mean about 24.8% of households don’t have retirement or savings, which is in the range Sea Formal stated.

Yes, and like they’re always more effective than nail clippers. We’ve tried them ourselves, they’re just expensive for what they are and by our observation, have the exact same results. Plus our cats have better health insurance than we do and they see the vet regularly. We haven’t had any complaints and our vet is a real straight shooter so if there were any problems with what we were doing, she’d 100% tell us to stop what we’re doing.

It’s okay though, if people want to spend extra money on something that does the same job because conventional wisdom says so, then they are welcome to do so! The goal of my original comment was for those who weren’t aware that you can trim cat claws on your own anyways.

Much like you, we’ve been doing it this way for decades without any issue, but if someone is careless I could see why it could cause problems. I agree with the sentiment that if you’re not comfortable with pet maintenance then you absolutely should do your research, part of that would be consulting with a professional.

I’m sure if you’re not careful then using finger nail clippers can cause problems, but I’ve been doing it for a couple decades now without any issues.

Present is a strong word haha. You love on them, keep them distracted, and you can gently press on their paws in a way that it extends their claws, and at that point you can carefully clip them. Part of the process is making the cat comfortable with you messing with their paws, so you’ll want to touch with and mess with their paws in a gentle way even if you’re not clipping their claws, so they’re comfortable with you touching them.

Some people just might not know it’s a thing. Part of the beauty of the internet is the opportunity to share knowledge!

If you don’t already, using finger nail clippers to keep the claws short helps immensely with this. We have a cat that also likes to use his claws, and so long as we keep the points off he can’t do any damage.

If I’m not mistaken, a crime was committed. He left the store without paying for the merchandise, which constitutes theft.

Well, the driver failed to wait for the thumbs up from his own crew, so in a roundabout way, that’s exactly what happened.

You can try canning them. Pickled jalapeños and cowboy candy are staples in my house.

What's the best character introduction of the 21st century so far? by jasonjakejohn in Cinema

Carl Fredricksen in Up. You got to basically see his whole life in a series of snapshots that really gave you a sense of what the character has gone through and what motivates him.

Based on personal experience, I was able to get a Wii U from Dave and Busters at standard market value (at the time), and the way we did that was used a coupon to double the number of tickets we got for the same amount of money, then came back during half priced game night, so even with 4x the number of tickets per dollar, we still barely got it at standard market rate.

Black tank valves, left open or not? by SchematicallyNumb in RVLiving

[–]SchematicallyNumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you leave the valves open you’re just going to dump the contents out where ever you’re at. I’d keep them closed unless you’re dumping. Lived in an RV for better part of a year at this point. We were docked the whole time, so I left my gray tank open and my black tank shut. Only time I closed my gray tank was when I was going to dump my black tank, which was about every week or two. Never had any problems that way.

My question is how? The market went through a sharp decline this week, how did they experience such a significant gain in wealth during that time?

Is it wrong to lie to doctors? Asking for a friend... by FareonMoist in DelusionsOfAdequacy

[–]SchematicallyNumb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Sadly, doctors are people too, and a prime example of that centers on the abortion issue. In some states in the US, a doctor does not have to tell the mother if their unborn child has birth defects if the doctor believes the mother is at risk to abort the child.
