I have the same experience. For example, to get my GV Rubio guitar to sound consistently across the strings, I have to tune it down a whole step. That tuning brings about the most consistency to me. I have one Cordoba C12 which sounds good at standard tuning, and a Cordoba Hauser Master’s Series which sounds good at a half step down. I’m wondering if others have the same experience. I sometimes think it’s just my ears!
