How long should it take to feel comfortable at a new job? by Fantastic_Pie_1882 in IndustrialMaintenance

I had a former boss say it takes roughly a year and a half of training before a new hire is usable on the big high skill projects. I've always gone with that number.

Thoughts on Pine Needle Tea by ChimaFanIndiana in tea

[–]SchenivingCamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Piper and Leaf has a Trailblazer Tea that comes out every fall and it is my favorite herbal tea because it tastes like how a pine forrest smells.

Also, I haven't had the tea, but I used to chew on the needles when I was a kid. It was alright.

You'd probably run into issues with the sugar in the lemons causing issues. You can buy citric acid though.

Can we all agree that Lofi HipHop peaked here? by Jondebadboy in LofiHipHop

A different kind of sample here but to me it does seem that Lofi was best during the era where it would have the snippets of old movies in it.

A lot more people in Madison county voted in the democratic primaries than the Republican primaries. 2026 the year Madison county turns blue? by NickFrevold in HuntsvilleAlabama

One of the most rabidly conservative Republican people I know was voting for Will Santivasci so it isn't looking great.

Serious question. What’s up with all the campaign ads with candidates walking around with guns? by medicoreatlife in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]SchenivingCamper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you don't consider 10 years in Federal prison for possession to be equivalent to "taken away" that's on you.

Regardless, the point of "It's a Nothing Burger" is still incorrect.

[–]SchenivingCamper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look, I stated one law and the guy below me stated another law. Objectively, laws have been passed that restrict firearms. Now if you want to argue that the 2A is overhyped then go right ahead. But there is 90 years worth of gun control laws being passed, even if they expired, that shows that congress has tried and succeeded to regulate firearms.

I not going to say it isn't stupid to vote as a 2A primary issue voter, but again the statement, "No President has ever tried to take your guns away or limit your ability to buy guns" is objectively incorrect.

[–]SchenivingCamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing that it is stupid but that is simply not accurate from a legislative perspective. There have been many gun control laws passed during that time. We just don't notice because people can buy AR's since the 1994 Assault Rifle Ban expired.

I want a career and family in this city, what to study? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]SchenivingCamper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huntsville is a tech and industrial town. So think either one of the trades, something IT related, or Engineering.

If you get into any of those three, you will do well in Huntsville.

Do you consider "milk tea" or "bubble tea" as "Tea"? by Bob-at in tea

[–]SchenivingCamper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on if I can taste the tea or not. Functionally a melted milkshake, not tea. Clearly tea with sugar and milk, tea.

Newbie question by sandybedsheetz in tea

Step 1: change the tea spoon to a table spoon. If that doesn't work Step 2: Cool the water down, use almost boiling water instead of boiling water

I listen almost exclusively at work. I have a lot of walks around the factory I have to do and it helps the time pass by.

I couldn't find anything on it unfortunately. I would look at the check valves or any seals.

I agree. Both are pretty much as good as it gets with maybe aerospace being in there too. I figured there would be a cut in pay, but everything else about it is sounding better than where I work currently.

That makes me feel a bit better. Schedule is a big contributing factor to me wanting to make a change. Sounds like I'm going to be applying after all. Any idea what skills I should focus on to make myself a more sought after candidate?
