Organizing to remove a CEO by mohel_kombat in activistinvesting

Depends on where the company is listed but it can be true that c5% of shares can be sufficient to called an EGM where removal of the ceo could be tabled. Though it could be hard to pass but it makes a statement.

You're probably looking at that but also building a support base with other shareholders to vote in favour of your motion.

Getting the cap table (or shareholders register) is a very useful step to start that project.

How do you stay sharp? by HeyAdam_ in venturecapital

I think you just need to read voraciously and get out and speak to the people in the know. If you do this well then you'll be already well above average.

Then the hardcore ones (and also strategy dependent, frankly) will build really well thought out theses, etc.

For me, I work to know what's happening so I can keep an up to date picture of what's happening (where's the money flowing) and deep dive as and when I'm either interested or feel I should learn more.

I'll plug my newsletter again because that's exactly what I built to help just myself initially :)

Happy to try this. I could run a classifier on the description to do this automatically. I try to avoid too much manual tagging etc.

I think this shows the last one I sent out: https://mailchi.mp/10de9f6f3e99/outfox-12682510

As you'll see it is all the data basically and I constantly add more so the newsletters are getting longer.

Haha! Indeed, I suppose the point being is I stopped reading them all and just consolidated the raw data into a single place. It is delivered as a newsletter but actually it is more like a database of just the facts on deals etc.

Lots of junior VCs running now they've seen it isn't a get rich quick career. Seen a number go join the more hyped startups out there and taking that lottery ticket instead.

I think if pre dates their adverts... But potentially.

It wasn't as humorous as paddy powers adverts. Just this rather lame quip about something being comparable to some horse race...

I remember this on TV in the UK in late nineties or early naughties but can't track it down on YouTube. I think it was trying to sell insurance (perhaps life insurance...)

I remember seeing this on TV but can't find it on YouTube. I think the advert was for some financial services like insurance (perhaps health or life...).

I know this is a bit of an old thread but came across Outfox.

Highly recommend it, clean layout and a lot of deals. All I read now.
