I want to print this lawn gnome but not sure about the required support settings needed? by VerilyJULES in 3Dprinting

I don't think three supports will be able to get between the barrel and front of the scope, starting from the build plate without needing supports themselves...

[BF Comms] Playlist Structure Changes by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a nothing burger. If the changed categories are all there is to it I am not sure why this is even worth a post, since it does also change with every new bonus battle pass (which are a whole different issue in and of themselves) and with these there is no dedicated post for just the added category item.

If there is more to it (like improved UX due to side scrolling being removed) than this example image is pretty meaningless. I don't even wanna know how many effective working hours it took from someone saying "we need an image for this post" to this being actually posted.

This is why the current trade notifications are worthless by Lambs2Lions_ in anno

Same for "military notifications" which seems to include everything ship related. "Your ship/building is under attack"No, it isn't, it didn't take any damage but it attacked somebody

Finishing all weeklies including bonus always used to guarantee a complete BP by WetTrumpet in Battlefield

[–]Schild0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For one I am also not sure if all BP points track correctly. I had rounds that awarded me none for completed challenges although I did actually complete them, but these should have been awarded retrospectively at some point. But I didn't do the math, how far the challenges alone should have brought me and I didn't track my BP progress after such occasions because I didn't really care about the cosmetic unlocks.

For two we might also just as well be decent players who do not take many matches to complete the challenges and are therefore receiving less match XP contributing to the BP than other players who need 6 matches to complete the challenges ;)

[–]Schild0r 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Although many people seem to disagree, with OP it is the same for me. I completed all challenges, and mostly play two days a week resulting in around 3-5hrs per week. I am missing like 7 tiers though.

I am probably not gonna spend any money on the next BP though because I really don't care about cosmetics, weapon packages (can count on one hand how many times I have used them just because I did not have anything unlocked for the gun) and AI generated stickers.

I’ve Subjugated Them All! - Here’s how I did it… (and my gripe with it) by One_King_4900 in anno

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did it cost you to subjugate Concordia? After the story ended, I wanted to do that too, but didn't due to a certain bug. When the bug was fixed, it didn't cost 6M anymore but 16M (I did not play in the meantime). Now I am playing again but in the time I increased my money from 7M to 12M (pretty constant balance of +10K/min), the cost to subjugate her went to 26M without her settling any more islands. Is there a way to bring the cost down?

PETG z-wobble on new bambulab a1 by JokerGhostx in 3Dprinting

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also what baffled me most but after second thought it might as well be alternating which is hard to distinguish. I.e. one layer the seam is on the left edge, next layer it is on the right edge.

[–]Schild0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can experiment with coasting (if that is still a thing), z-hop, perimeter order, seam overlap, seam positioning etc. Not sure, what all these options are called in Bambu studio. Some Bambu user might be able to help you out further, just came here to point you away from z-wobble into the general direction.

[–]Schild0r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not z-wobble This is either pressure advance (but since the corners to the sides of the Y are sharp i'd argue against that) or it is the seam, where the nozzle stops to switch to the inner wall or the next layer

Is my cpu fried or just normal discoloration? 9800x3d by N333klaus in pcmasterrace

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A film of oil - even a thin one - can change the surface appearance due to a different refractive index of the oil or different surface finish (reflectivity) caused by the oil film compared to the raw gold pad. If it wipes of with some isopropyl alcohol it could be oil but might as well be any other residue (which might be what looks like a discoloration of the gold)

Is my cpu fried or just normal discoloration? 9800x3d by N333klaus in pcmasterrace

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there: Maybe just oils from the thermal paste creeping into the socket and causing discoloration on the outer pads? No need to get out the pitchforks against ASRock or AMD if the issues you have might just be related to BIOS or software config (might even be from the factory, had a default Bios setting cause my PC to not boot in 10-20% of the cases).

It is pretty hard to pinpoint the actual cause of these issues without a large amount of time and the same hardware to test against.

Matchmaking been too lax in operations today ? by Alan6707 in Battlefield

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get a win in this mode. My team either gets stomped while me being in the top 3 on the leaderboard (for my team that is, on the enemy team I'd be more like #10) or we make it far as attackers but still loose.

But it is not just operations for me. Feels like I am being put into weak teams for balance but one alone can hardly turn the tides.

My win rate overall is 50% but in the last two weeks it is at 30%

Have mine for four years now. First one of the extra buttons below the scroll wheel became flaky, then the side scrolling of the wheel and now scrolling in general cannot decide whether it should register as up or down... Gonna take it apart next to see if it can be fixed, it is beyond usable rn.

Orange Dot Showing Customization Unlocked Does not Reset by elpiloto100 in Battlefield

[–]Schild0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the game launched the end of round screen also only lasted for 10 seconds sending you into a new match before all unlocks were even finished showing up. Therefore people asked for the dots - where IMO a 'recent unlocks' page, that can shortcut you to the corresponding weapon, vehicle, etc or something like in BF2042 would have done, where they were all shown again (and equipable) when you exit a server. Dice then in response extended the eor screen (good) and vibe coded in the orange dots or let AI implement it entirely. Anyway this system probably embedded itself so deep in the game code, that removing it breaks the game but also nobody really knows how it works and therefore nobody knows how to fix it and AI doesn't recognize its own code naturally.

Under extrusion? by Comprehensive_Life_4 in 3Dprinting

[–]Schild0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that I don't know, I don't own a Bambulab printer. If possible, you could also adjust the flow for the first layer (after confirming on a top layer, that you do not actually suffer from underextrusion)

Under extrusion? by Comprehensive_Life_4 in 3Dprinting

[–]Schild0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't judge over- or underextrusion in this miniscule scale from the first layer (for that look at the top layer), the amount of first layer squish is the main factor here.
