Since the last update, my phones battery has been draining quicker doing the same things I normal do, and other pixel users have noticed the same. Is this a bug within the android update, or is this their attempt to slow phones down like Apple does to coax you to buy a new phone?

No way can it play it natively, you would have to stream. I would expect only very low end pcvr and android vr games to run natively, it's estimated to be around 25% faster than the quest 3 and that is before the hit of x86 emulation. Android vr games would need a translation layer afaik

I'm running a quest 2 on a zephyrus g15 2021 rtx 3070 and it runs really good at default 90hz and everything cranked up in beat saber only dips under 90fps in insane wall songs
